Hype Machine is one of my favorite music discovery sites (π @fascinated) and Plug is the best way to listen to use it. I've been a long-time Plug fan and beta user for the past few months. It's gooood.
Never knew about this app, but Hype Machine has got to be one of sites I've used consistently for the longest time. Going on 10 years i think. This will help me listen more :)
This is one of my all-time favourite apps for Mac. Great way to find new music every day without putting in much effort. Congrats on the new version dudes!
Love the design, and the app is super fast. Might be going crazy but I swear the sound from Plug is better than hypem on web.
So far nothing I've found is as enjoyable as a Fluid created app for desktop. Really like the see track stats, friends that loved it, and which blogs posted within the feed.
This seems so cool! I love HypeM - would be really nice to have a quick play option on my desktop. Unfortunately the latest version seems to be crashing every time I try to open it π
I already liked Plug but Plug Two is even better. :) Great job @alex_marchant The design is beautiful and is perfect with OS X El Capitan. One thing I find really different is the fact that album cover are not displayed. Why did you choose to change that ?
I discovered Plug for the first time on PH and what better way than discover Plug Two here too.
@mrcalexandre Credit where it's due, @glennui is 100% responsible for the amazing design.
Re: album art, Often the art doesn't necessarily match the track, and in general we wanted to experiment with other uses of that space. We built in a 24 hour heat map for the popular tab. For all the other tabs they show the number of favorites, which is color-coded to get an idea of how popular a track is while scrolling.
@alex_marchant@mrcalexandre So thanks @glennui for the design but you did a great development too. Thanks for your answer, I agree with you, sometimes album art are not matching the track, it was just that I was used to that. After you explained, I understand your point of view, heat map is a good way to show the popularity of a song.
I love HypeM, feature request to add mutliple +airplay. Multiple airplay is the only reason I use the janky iTunes player to hit multiple speakers throughout the office.
Just figured out a good pro tip, do an Option+click of the volume the menubar Volume control and you can select ONE of your airplay audio sources.
I just eval'd Porthole and Airfoil. Porthole at $12.99 is great but doesn't let me add Bluetooth speakers, so that HypeM, Plug Two and any other browser or system audio source plays through multiple Airplay connected sound devices for great home automation for the audio geek.
Airfoil lets me add in bluetooth speakers to the home-wide symphony, . It didn't work at first because of a conflict of installing Porthole/Soundflower simultaneously. I Prefer the Airfoil UI. Airfoil is the winning software at $29!
Great app, Plug Two!
