@bentossell@tylermdavis@chelseahaupt That's right, this is the perfect product for the artistically challenged, like mysel... khm... a very good friend of mine :)
Hello Hunters,
I'm Henry, Co-Founder of SprayPrinter. We are very exited that SprayPrinter is getting good feedback.
SprayPrinter paints digital designs onto walls. It can be a picture of you, your cat, your teenage movie star crush or anything else you like. Just choose your favorite image from our app, put your phone on a tripod, attach a spray-can to the SprayPrinter and start printing.
Your smartphone tracks every movement of the printer and knows its exact position all the time. We've achieved that by combining sensor data from the printer with the computing power of the phone.
The other key to the quality is the mechanics - superfast electromagnetic valve opening and closing over 200 times per second. This gives you the freedom to move your hand freely just as you would with the regular paintbrush.
Let us know what you think and happy hunting!
I love products that combine the virtual with the physical world.
Does the image have to be from your app, or can you create your own - to some sort of spec and have it painted?
@tariktech You can definitely print your own images. We are working on the app to make the photo editing automated, but at this time you either need to edit the image yourself or submit it to us and we'll do it for you.
Very cool, but I have a few concerns. 1. How will you know you have full coverage? For example if there is a lower right part of the image and you forget, you can't go back and do it again. 2. Switching colors. Is there a flush function? Otherwise the first few sprays of a new color would be mixed.
@joshdance I'm not part of the SprayPrinter team, but seen them actively working on it for last 4 months in @BuilditAcc.
1. Yes, you can go back and forth as many times as you wish. Printer knows where it is and where it has printed already. Can build really cool features like hair with such irregular strokes.
2. Yup, there is a flush while changing the paints/colours
@arturkiros At the moment we are using MTN water based spray paints. They are safe to use indoors and they work really well. You can print pretty much on any even surface. It's a good idea to put a base layer first and then print, the colors will look more vivid then.
Wow, this looks amazing! How cool would it be to design something and get it up on your wall in a flash. I'm thinking my company logo that i'm so very proud of and not having to spend loads of dosh to get it up on my wall in the office! Very cool!
Genius! Artists can license their work and the buyer/collector sprayprints it. Artists can use the #blockchain-based #DRM platform from #ASCRIBE to dynamically handle licensing via #SmartContracts.
