Hey everyone! It's Cole from Passage by 1Password, back again with an exciting update. You've probably heard that passkeys are a modern alternative to password-based logins, but how do you know if your user base is ready for this new tech? Today, our team is thrilled to announce Passkey Ready, a free tool for measuring the percentage of your users who are on devices and systems compatible with passkeys. Here's how it works: 1. Integrate Passkey Ready by adding a few lines of code to your web or mobile app. 2. Collect anonymous data about the devices and browsers accessing your content. 3. View the customized dashboard to analyze passkey readiness by platform, geography, and more. Plus, track changes over time. Passkey Ready equips you with the data and knowledge to make the right passkey decision for your business. Here's why we are excited about passkeys: πŸ”’ Enhance Security: Passkeys leverage advanced asymmetric cryptography to deliver phish-proof authentication, allowing your users to say goodbye to weak passwords and the hassle of remembering them. πŸš€ Boost Conversions: Roughly 30% of online purchases are abandoned at checkout because consumers can't remember passwords. Simplify the login process to reduce cart abandonment and increase customer satisfaction. πŸ’² Reduce Costs: Going passwordless removes the need for costly SMS-based verification messages often used with traditional MFA. It all starts with collecting the data you need to build a strategic authentication strategy for your app or website. Take the first step towards a passwordless future; try Passkey Ready for free!

@zane12580 Thanks for the support! Passkey Ready is a free analytics tool that can be used no matter what authentication system you currently have. We also offer passkey authentication as a service, which can be used alongside many existing auth systems or as a standalone solution.

Hey Cole, Does Passkey Ready also provide insights on user sentiment or willingness to adopt passkeys? Do you have any plans to offer guidance on how companies can educate their users about passkey technology? Congrats on the launch!
Cole Hecht
@kyrylosilin we also have an auth product which handles all passkey UX including education. We are always doing user research on this and rolling it back into Passage. Would love for you to take a look if you're ready to deploy passkeys! https://passage.1password.com

Not sure why we need another tool like this, seems like something companies could figure out on their own, but I guess it's kinda cool to get a custom report, wonder if it handles older devices too or if it's just for the latest tech, thoughts on making it work with more stuff?
Cole Hecht
@acheteurpro Passkey Ready works on older devices too!

Understanding how many users can adopt passkey right away is crucial. This tool should make rollout planning smoother and more informed.

Big fan of anything pushing to make passkeys the norm, congrats on the launch @colehecht!

I'm not sure if focusing on passkey adoption is the best move right now, tweaking a rollout strategy based on device and browser compatibilities seems like overkill, why not put resources toward improving core functionalities instead, ppl need reliable and user-friendly features, not more data on what they might be able to use later

@almacto - Thanks for the feedback! We actually have team members who work directly with FIDO to continuously improve the underlying standards and we're always working to improve the core Passage product. The reason we saw a need for Passkey Ready is that not every app or website is ready to deploy passkeys in the same way. This tool helps decision makers get the information they need to build rollout strategies that will work best for their actual users.
