Really pumped about Outsite! I've stayed at multiple locations from them, both in Santa Cruz and San Diego and have been blown away. For me traveling has always been exciting, but there's been a slight friction point around meeting new people when I get to a new destination and feeling connected and part of a community always took a bit too long. I felt that with Outsite, I could immediately get stuck in and be around super smart entrepreneurs and find a rhythm. They offer surfing, coworking, gyms nearby, great community dinners, events, bikes and so much more. I felt at home there from day one.
In fact, I've been so excited about them that they've been one of my first Angel investments, where I felt that they're really working on the next generation of co-working. Especially pumped to see where the new subscription model will take them, at $50/mo you'll now get stays at all Outsite location for around $35/mo. Haven't seen a model like this yet.
Looking forward to where Manu, Ashok and the team are taking this, can't wait to check out the Tahoe destination and looking forward to seeing them expand to 10+ destination by the end of the year. :)
Outsite grabbed me when I decided to sell my place in NYC after 15 years and move to North County San Diego. All I knew is I wanted to trade the concrete for the beach - but I still wanted to plug into the entreprenuerial and creative community. I met @manuthan who had just opened the new site in Encinitas after successfully piloting in Santa Cruz. Ever since I've been such an evangelist of Outsite that I jumped in to help with biz dev and create partnerships with groups like coding schools, co-working spaces and accelerators who organize educational and fun programs with us. Check out footage from one of our events here :)

And thanks everyone for your support!
@ak_launchleader@manuthan Hey Ashok, I'm an emerging business correspondent with The Economic Times, interested in reaching out to you about Outsite, please let me know where I can email you? Thanks!
I am currently exploring what it takes to be a nomad and the options. Outsite looks like an interesting one!!
You can read their story here@manuthan@AK_LaunchLeader tell us more :)
Hi @manuthan@ak_launchleader!
Always dreamed about living in different places without having to own a place or rent it! Would love to test this out eventually. A couple things came to my mind. @buffer ( I see that @leowid is an advisor yay!) since they work remotely and Airbnb.
Would love to see a community around Outside soon.
@sydney_liu_sl I think you'd like this :).
I've been to the Outsite in Encinitas. The only down side is that co-working with a view like that could hamper productivity. But being able to work with the sounds of the waves and the birds while watching the sunset is a pretty unique experience.
@ryankuder Haha, thanks! I thought guys like @brantcooper kept you on track! BTW we're publishing a blog next week on the (proven) increase in productivity for people working at Outsite. An excerpt from Leo at Buffer: "I feel like I've been more productive in my 4 weeks at Outsite than any other week in 2015." You can help us A/B test the study ;)
The model of Coworking is evolving into community living and shared work space and Outsite is spot on in their model and pricing. The emphasis on community building in each location is precisely what differentiates the work away locations from other products out there in the this market. By involving existing startup leaders, communities of influence and positive individuals this place has brought a buzz around it. It is the chance encounters, paired with the shared experiences and the knowing that you are where you want to be when you stay at Outsite, this stands out for me. Ashok and Manu have been thoughtful in the development and it shows as the experience of Outsite grows. Stoked to be involved with this coworking/coliving concept that is building a support structure for our global community to thrive, move freely about this globe, play together and learn together as the number of nomadic entrepreneurs and freelancers continue to rise.
Had a great time in Santa Cruz and San Diego! Theres a great team of amazing people behind this project doing a badass great job! You guys have my full support!
After hearing about Outsite from @AK_LaunchLeader, I've been escaping SF during the week to work on a book.
Feels like the perfect blend of Airbnb and co-working. Instant community in an amazing setting, and not just a random traveler's stopover. For deep work, this is a gamechanger.
@elliottsadams Thanks, E! Glad you've had a great experience with us and we're looking forward to the new book - and getting the first pics of you surfing ;)
I visited the Santa Cruz location, it is 2 blocks from a great surfing spot. A mix of co-working, co-living, and healthy lifestyle. I can see how it can become a big trend!
Look's awesome but why does Santa Cruz say $35/night but then when I click on it then it tells me $65/day with a shared space? I would like the $35 please :)
Immediately showed Outsite to my team as we all love Tahoe and take pretty regular team outings there. This seems like an awesome way to get away from the office, get work done, and then get out and enjoy life. Can't wait to try it out!
@agreenwaldhq Thanks! As part of building an inspiring global community, we also create events such as Startup Ski Bus, Code & Surf, Co-Working Pop-Up Day and Pitch on the Beach. We'd love for you to join us ;)
@manuthan@ak_launchleader will do. btw, i'm one of the founders @301Chicon - an eclectic eastside coworking space in Austin. we're expanding to 15k sqft and plan on having temporary rooms for travelers to crash in. Able to join the outsite network?
@taylorhou@manuthan@301chicon Sounds really cool and a great fit for our community. We do have a way for partnering with coworking spaces to add adventures to their memberships. Email me ashok@outsite.co to discuss. Thanks!
snow.sh (my company) hosted a strategy retreat in their Santa Cruz space last summer. It was fantastic. Clean, great access to downtown and surfing, a wonderful workspace that we could reserve with ample whiteboard and desk space.
Very cool concept. It's one of the types where you think "Why didn't I think of that"! It surely is an offer that was just waiting to be placed in markets with entrepreneurial minds in a timely fashion. Cannot wait to see how it evolves from here.
