Putting in an effort each day, even a small one, can make an impact in the long run. The difficult part is starting up that momentum and keeping it. Otternal Life's Reginald (your personal ottler!) will help you rev-up your habit building journey.

Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I built Otternal Life as a free and easy way to help people decide and keep track of habits they're trying to build. Reaching goals such as "Getting a sixpack" is essentially a side-effect of having the habit of working out consistently. Showing up everyday is the difficult part and that's exactly what Otternal Life aims to help you with. It's completely free on Google Play Store. There's also no ads and I don't plan on ever adding one. Features: 🦦 Create unlimited and highly customizable habits You can start any habit you've always dreamed of building. Habits recurring only on certain days? every week? every month? Customize it even further by setting an icon and color. 🦦 Track progress with our calendars and detailed statistics See how your mood correlates to habit completion, which days you're most productive, your streaks, and the calendar view of your completions. 🦦 Journal Logs Keep a mini-diary in the app by logging up to 5 moods and short anecdotes per day. 🦦 Works offline and respects your data privacy You don't need an internet connection to use the app. No data is sent to us or any third party since everything is saved locally on your device. 🦦 No ads and completely free No registration whatsoever required upon opening the app. We only ask your name to better personalize your experience and the notifications you receive. I built the app myself from the design all the way to marketing so I'm quite proud of it. I'd love to know what you think and how we can improve the app!

Hey I really like the idea, when will it be available for iOS?
Rose Bilag
@simonfredericbilai Thank you! Unfortunately, I don't have plans to deploy it to iOS at the moment.

@simonfredericbilai @rose_bilag I would also love to see this in iOS. I use Streaks (and paid for it) which documents compliance with habits and Moodnotes, which allows short journal entries. It would be so excellent to have (and I'd be willing to pay for) an app that does both!

@simonfredericbilai @sawlar_vu I see there's been a number of people wanting an iOS version 😄. I'll move it up my priority list but since I didn't originally plan on releasing one, it might take a while but please stay tuned!

@rose_bilag great job, love the ui, I am definitely trying this out. What was the tech stacked used to built this app. Why did you decide to build a habit tracker app. Looks great and can't wait to try it out. Also are you planing to launch in ios and i am looking for an application that has a cross-platform interface, where instead of single person habit, we have group habits. Like meet for lunch with X every two weeks. Then both people have to check in for the habit to be successful. Let me know your thoughts and good job.

@riston_thomas Thank you please let me know what you think! Tech Stack: React Native (Expo + EAS), Realms, and Typescript Why did you decide to build a habit tracker app? It all started when I realized just how deep I was in the rabit hole of burnout. I was too focused on working that I neglected taking care of myself. At the same time, I felt that the hard work I was putting in wasn't amounting to anything. I started looking into what I can do to fix me and it brought me to Atomic Habits and habit building. I thought the methodologies he wrote made a LOT of sense. I can't believe this wasn't taught in school. 😄 I then left my job so I could focus on my self-care/improvement journey. I can definitely say I'm in a better headspace now. I wanted an easier way to track my habits so I started creating Otternal Life. Are you planing to launch in ios? I initially didn't plan on releasing to iOS but since a number of people wanted it I'm currently looking into doing so. Please stay tuned! I like the idea of having Group Habits. I can see it being useful since you'd have accountability buddies to motivate each other in accomplishing the habit. Thank you for the suggestion. 🙂
