looks awesome. I was just wondering - how does this compare to Aircall? in terms of features and pricing
Daryna Kulya
@_jacksmith thanks Jack! Sure, here are the main differences: 1 - Aircall doesn't offer SMS. OpenPhone does. It's a big part of the product experience 2 - Aircall is a call center solution so if that's your use case, that's what it's built for and nice a good job at that. At OpenPhone, we've just launched shared numbers allowing for team sharing. And we allow you to have an individual phone number for you, your sales reps, recruiters, etc. Aircall comes with a 3 user minimum, so if you're just looking for a number for yourself, it won't be a fit 3 - Pricing-wise, we like to keep it real simple. $10/mo per user. Aircall billing starts at $30/mo per user and you need a 3 user minimum Fundamentally, if you're looking for a call center, Aircall is built for that. OpenPhone supports both individuals and teams. Hope this helps - let us know what you think if you try us out.

@darynakulya very helpful. #1 sounds like a big difference

I switched my personal line to OpenPhone while traveling internationally. It is a cost-effective way to use and hold onto my US phone number while I'm out of the states. I would have killed for OpenPhone five years ago while running a startup that required a local support line. We tried to rig up a line to ring all the founders phones, but it never worked correctly. OpenPhone solves that problem with a beautiful interface and UX. @darynakulya, @mahyarraissi, and team are doing amazing work. Can't wait to see what you release next!
Daryna Kulya
@chadwhitaker Hey Chad! Thanks so much for your kind words. Can't believe I didn't respond here. We're so excited to have you on OP. Look forward to sharing what's next ;)

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 We're thrilled to share our latest release with y'all. First of all - thanks @katmanalac for hunting us. Since launching here in July 2018 and graduating from Y Combinator, we've been working on improving the OpenPhone experience and implementing some of the most requested product features. We also went from a team of 2 to 9 amazing teammates around the world, without whom this wouldn't be possible. Here's what's inside OpenPhone 2.0: 🖥 Web app - works nicely on all browsers 📱 Native iOS and Android apps - React Native was good to get us started with, but we found reliability suffered so we've invested in two native apps 👥 Shared phone numbers - team up on calls and messages with your colleagues 💪 Admin dashboard - easily add and remove numbers and members 📇 Lightweight CRM - a dedicated business address book for you or your team. Easy to customize, comes with custom properties on contacts ⏺Call recording ✨ Email and Slack integrations 💜We've also rebranded to make our visual identity more aligned with our vision for the product And here's what's coming right up: 📞Phone menu with extensions to route calls to the appropriate team member 🤖Auto-replies - automatically respond to texts, missed calls or voicemail with a pre-defined message 🔖Snippets - speed up your response time by creating and sending message templates for common questions Many of our first customers came from Product Hunt and we appreciate all the support we've received here ♥️ Hope you enjoy these updates and please let us know what you think. We will be here to answer your questions throughout the day.

@katmanalac @d0b0 thank you! All credit goes to our team!
Mike Ritchie
@darynakulya do you have a way to screen spam / robocalls?
Daryna Kulya
@mike_seekwell Hey Mike! And sorry for the delay here. We're introducing it real soon. If you'd like to be notified when it's here, send us a note to support@openphone.co Thanks!
Lanre Akinyemi
Congrats on the launch @darynakulya! Super exciting to see all the cool things you're doing. Can the text feature be used for 2FA now or not yet?
Daryna Kulya
@lanre_akinyemi Hey Lanre! Thanks very much! No, unfortunately 2FA is outside of our control now. Some services allow virtual phone numbers for 2FA, others don't. It's pretty inconsistent unfortunately. Hope we can get this solved as we grow :)
Daeshawn Ballard
Openphone is great! Switching from Google Voice and couldn't be happier with the tools that Daryna's company provides for my virtual tour business.
Daryna Kulya
@imdaeshawn Hey Daeshawn! So happy to hear this - it's awesome to have you use OpenPhone since seeing those very very early product versions 😅
Sahas Katta
@imdaeshawn I've been using Google Voice for years. What do you like better about OpenPhone?
Daeshawn Ballard
@sahaskatta Hey Sahas, for me it's the constant innovation and improvement that attracted me to the platform. I implore you to check out the other feedback from the happy users on this thread and also check out the trial for yourself. I don't know what would be or would not be a reason for you to switch, our needs are probably different. Hope that helps a tiny bit.

This sounds fantastic but I assume it's for North American phone numbers only, right? Almost every service I hear about it North America only. I'm in the UK and I almost 100% call only people in the UK, though I do have a U.S phone number as well just in case.
Andrii Bas
Awesome product. Love it so much! Switching from Skype to OpenPhone (btw, it's possible to port your existing phone number). the team support is amazing!
Daryna Kulya
@bass_andriy Thanks, Andriy! Excited to get your number ported over and happy you're enjoying the service. Lots of exciting things to come - stay tuned! :)

This is a space that I think could really use innovation, so I’m glad to see the 2.0 version of OpenPhone. One thing I’ve noticed with VOIP services is that they’re easily detected and often not allowed when signing up for services. Scenario: I want to create a new Google and Twitter account for my startup. They ask me for my phone number to verify my identiy, so I use my OpenPhone number. When it’s for business use, it’s really important (especially as a solo founder) that all business and personal stuff is separate. But I’ve run into trouble, particularly with social media platforms, where they don’t allow these VOIP phone numbers. Is there any sort of workaround for this? Would these services allow me to use my OpenPhone number, or would I have to use a carrier number?
Romy Lynch
Absolutely love OpenPhone, it's essential for me as an international founder based outside the US. New features are spot on also 🚀
Daryna Kulya
@romylynch Thanks so much for your kind words, Romy! More to come and glad you're enjoying the product 🙏

Team OpenPhone have been a blessing to my business! I started with these folks after YC's @mwseibel shared their Startup School deal last year and I haven't looked back (I cut the cord and also cancelled my Plum.io subscriptions). @darynakulya and Daryl even helped me port my cell phone number from Rogers in Canada to OpenPhone - that was an awesome experience! I'm now looking forward to expanding my account with shared business numbers! (OpenPhone Desktop rocks literally!)
Sunil Neurgaonkar
Using this for a while now and totally loving it. I was looking a product like for this since lonnggg time! Kudos @darynakulya @mahyarraissi

Found OpenPhone on ProductHunt 6 months ago because we had to have a phone number for some random compliance thing. It's been great, and the number of places where it's useful to have a business dedicated phone number just keeps growing!

@darynakulya Great reception here on PH! Looking forward to ditching the Dinosaur system we have. Two Questions: Does OpenPhone support extensions and subsequent routing? For example press 1 for sales and that call is routed to a team member (assuming they need their own number). Second, does OpenPhone support ringing an extension x number of times then routes to another extension if no answer? For example, sales does not answer after 3 rings and get routed to ring at customer service extension? Thank you for taking time to answer these questions during your busy PH launch. Best, TAJA
Daryna Kulya
@modcabinetry Hey there! Thanks a lot for your question. 1 - We're getting ready to launch extensions. Coming real soon. 2 - Not yet, but will be on our radar. So if you'd like, send us a note to support@openphone.co and we'll let you know when the phone menu is here!

@darynakulya any chance I could use this in New Zealand, great product and just what I need for my business.

Happy to see OpenPhone here on ProductHunt! We’ve used OP for 2~ years and it’s one of our most used (and favorite) tools. Love the energy the OP team has. I recommend it to everyone! 🤩
Val Sopi
Absolutely love OpenPhone! There's so much to it nowadays, but the simplicity of using it to cover my needs, is the best! More importantly, the team behind it is super cool and pretty much even founders (@darynakulya) are eager to talk about features. And love how it looks! 10 stars throughout!
Nazar Hembara
@darynakulya congrats on launch! We are using OpenPhone for almost a year now and we love it. Do you have / plan to have an integration with Hubspot?
Daryna Kulya
@nazar_hembara1 Hello Nazar! And sorry for a delay here. Yes, we do! 100% - it's actually in progress. Send us a note to support at openphone.co so we can let you know when it's here

Super excited to see this and congrats on all the progress!! Literally when I first saw OpenPhone it was only a mobile app - now with web + shared numbers I can’t imagine not using it for B2B. Can’t wait to use it for my next startup :) To others - highly recommend!! The speed and execution of the OpenPhone team is honestly inspiring

This is awesome!! OpenPhone has saved us so much by unifying our support efforts. Super excited for 2.0!
