OneCal syncs Outlook and Google Calendars in real-time, helps avoid meeting conflicts, saves time, and keeps your personal life private. Upon synchronizing your calendars, you’ll never have to deal with meeting conflicts again.
Hello Product Hunt 👋!
A lot has happened since our last launch, and we are excited to have the opportunity to launch the most advanced Calendar Sync tool in the market.
⌛ Background
My co-founder @kleo_xhindoli and I have been working as Software Engineer consultants for more than 6 years, working for small and large US corporates and startups. During these years, we have routinely worked with multiple calendars and dealt with meeting conflicts pretty often.
We kept experiencing the same issue over and over again, and 6 months ago we started building OneCal, with the sole purpose of making calendar synchronization as easy as possible.
In September (2022) we launched our Private Beta and reached 300+ private beta users which gave us amazing feedback about the app and helped us improve the experience even more.
In December (2022) we launched Product Hunt, receiving amazing feedback from the community.
We are grateful for the feedback that the community and our users provided during this period, as we’ve been able to improve the platform even more.
So, what’s changed since our last launch?
🚀 Added Features:
🔄 Outlook Calendar Sync: Initially, we could only sync Google Calendars, and the number of requests to support Outlook was overwhelming. It took a lot of effort to support Outlook and Google Calendar sync, but we can proudly say that users can sync Google Calendars and Outlook seamlessly, making us one of the few web-based platforms that sync Outlook and Google Calendar.
🤯 The most advanced calendar sync software to date: Listening to the community feedback, we’ve enhanced the sync configuration with the following options:
- Disable reminder notifications for clone events
- Add custom event colors
- Sync meeting links
- Sync locations
- Exclude events by color
- Sync Free Events
🌄 Interactive Calendar Sync Preview: Given that we added more options to our Calendar Sync configuration, we wanted users to be able to interactively preview how the synced events would look prior to syncing them. Users can now edit the sync config and view how the events will look, in real-time.
🖊 Edit Syncs: Previously, we didn’t have the option to edit the calendar sync configuration, making users delete and re-create a sync for even the smallest changes.
🌅 View full sync details: Users now have the ability to view all the details of a sync.
⏸ Pause syncs: Users now have the option to pause a sync, and resume it when needed. This removes the need of deleting a sync when you want to temporarily pause a sync.
📆 Calendar View: There is no need to open multiple Calendar clients, you can now view all your events in one place. Furthermore, you can choose to hide clone events, so you don't see duplicate events.
🆓 Free trial without a Credit Card: We noticed that a large portion of the users who would sign up were hesitant to enter their credit card details for the free trial, so we decided to remove the credit card and make it a free trial, without a need for a credit card. We had to change our business modal and strategy, but we wanted our users to be able to experience the level of thought we’ve put into this and decide if it’s something that adds value to them or not.
🚨 Improved sync performance and reliability: We’ve made the sync process more reliable and performant. The syncs now take less than 1 minute to complete, compared to up to 10 minutes if you’d use our competition.
Furthermore, we’ve squashed a lot of bugs and edge cases, improving the sync accuracy even more.
💰What's in the box?
Since no launch is complete without a special deal for our friends at Product Hunt, we’re offering:
- 20% recurring discount using the discount code: hunter (on top of 2 months off if you purchase an annual plan).
We love hearing from our users, so don't be shy about giving us feedback or asking questions in the comments!
Have an amazing day ahead,
Eraldo
Kudos on the launch @eraldo_forgoli and @kleo_xhindoli! It's great to see the addition of fresh features since your previous launch, particularly the Event Editing and Calendar View. Keep up the impressive work!
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring you our latest update, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with you. This update has been months in the making and includes a ton of new features and improvements to existing ones.
The main focus has been adding support for Outlook calendars, which was by far the most requested feature. We’ve also added some exciting new improvements to the overall experience and we can’t wait for you to try them all.
We’re really excited about this update and we hope you are too. We’re committed to making our platform the best it can be and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with you all to achieve that goal.
Thanks for your continued support and feedback. We can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🚀
@westyer Do you mean getting approval from Microsoft for using the Outlook API? If so, Getting approval from Microsoft is a little bit tedious, but you should be able to get approval in 2 weeks or so.
@westyer Stripe is not supported in the country I live, so we kinda didn't have many options. Furthermore, Paddle is more convenient as it helps us with Taxes, as it's a Merchant of Record. With Stripe, we'd have to manage the taxes(and other payment-related processes) for each customer ourselves.
I love the Outlook sync, it works like a charm. The Calendar view feature is also fantastic. Overall, I'm really satisfied with the product so far. Great job and keep up the good work! 🔥
Congratulations on the launch of OneCal! It looks like a fantastic tool for syncing Calendars in real-time. I can definitely see how it would save time and help avoid meeting conflicts. Are there any additional features you're planning to add in the future?
@srprs Thanks. Please give it a shot and let us know your thoughts. We have been constantly improving the app per user feedback. During the past 3 months, we have added lots of features and improvements. One of the most requested features is adding scheduling links, but it's something we are evaluating as requests come by. Is there something you'd like us to implement?
@srprs Thanks a lot. The main focus right now is ensuring we have the best and most reliable sync possible. The calendar view feature was also just launched so we're waiting to see how our users will use it and what can we do to make that more useful for them.
