This little gem is the ultimate learning device for Obsidian. It is the unofficial manual for the unconventional way Obsidian approaches data in a linked environment. Here you can save yourself hours and hours of finding the right way of structuring your data in Obsidian while at the same time getting tons applicable knowledge right at your fingertips. Lean back and enjoy the first guided lessons, then, as you feel that the reins get more loose and loose feel the curiosity that guides your progress in mastering the art of getting from a pile of MD files to a self-relating productive network of ideas. You can tell that I am a fan ;-)

On one hand, this looks super cool. But on the other hand, needing an entire manual to learn obsidian freaks me out a little 😳

Love using Obsidian at a very basic level so this should make me even more productive - Excited to try it out

Imagine you being the architect of a new home you have envisioned building for years but don’t know how to. Imagine someone who has done this for years and brought you into his home. Then he leads you into another room to show you how you can build one for yourself using the tools that you have. Inspired, you go back to your building project and know what steps to take instead of being lost. You know what tool to use to build the design you want because you were shown how to. Three main reasons why this course is excellent if you are thinking about it. Teaches not just obsidian but note making: This is more than just how to use obsidian as a note-taking app. It’s an education in note-making itself. I purchased the Obsidian Flight School 1.0 and was highly pleased with the results. My navigation skills and confidence using Obsidian significantly improved. The latest version, Obsidian Flight School 2.0, appears to be an even more substantial improvement on the original product. Flight schools method to help you “lean in” with obsidian and get the best practices out the gate is one of the BEST investments I’ve ever made as I seek to improve my relationship to ideas, knowledge, and productivity of using Obsidian. In less than 2 weeks I was flying with best practices because I was using obsidian to learn obsidian. Imagine if Microsoft Excel had an easy to follow, fun, interactive, and insanely insightful training built into Excel to help you practice live as you got the hang of such an in-depth tool? The use cases of obsidian are endless and the way Nick teaches you to use it with OFS, both genius and priceless. I’ve been flying in obsidian and have not looked back since.

I was brand new to Obsidian. 🤔 Now what? How do I learn this? Discovered Obsidian Flight School (OFS) v1 and worked through the exercises. They were fun! A challenging game with the real reward of comfort and agility in the software. Even after "graduating" from Flight School, I kept going back to it. The "reps" keep my moves in shape. Plus, I can train in skills still sinking in. OFS Version 2 is going to be awesome. Nick Milo's preview event showed how he and his team meticulously updated the lessons as current and robust as possible (e.g., covering new hotkeys, plugins). Just purchased yesterday. Looking forward to digging in and becoming an Obsidian pilot. Really impressed with the flow of the course and the gamification elements.

OFS 1.0 was great, but based on what I have seen so far of OFS 2.0, it's a huge update and improvement. It is a great way to get started using Obsidian, or to improve your skills even if you have been using Obsidian for a while. OFS is filled with exercises so you don't just read about things, you practice them until you have ingrained them into your habits. And because OFS 2.0 is an Obsidian vault itself, everything you do is in Obsidian, not in a separate tool or Web interface. I am looking forward to refreshing and honing my skills in Obsidian with Obsidian Flight School 2.0.

Obsidian is wonderful. And it is also confusing. Obsidian Flight School 2.0 takes you on a guided exploration to practice the skills for effective use of your time building your own thinking space using Obsidian. Thanks to @nickmilo and the whole LYT team for updating Flight School for 2023. In setting up the Flight School 2.0 vault I have already improved my skills in navigation. With the ongoing rapid improvements in Obsidian, Flight School 2.0 is an important part of my making the most of it.

Obsidian is a wonderful took for PKM that has been invaluable in my graduate studies and Nick Milo is the best Obsidian teacher I've found. I highly recommend both his Obsidian Flight School and his Linking Your Thinking PKM course.
