Congrats on the launch Benjamin & team! Do you really own google.com? ;)
I find the integrated services feature very interesting, how does it work with Medium for example?
@mattaussaguel Thanks Matt :) We also own apple.com but it's a secret ! We are working on integration right now, Medium is probably the one that gonna cause us some headache but we have good hint, stay tuned!
Fail :-( http://d.pr/i/1lvrf
All my stuff is at iwantmyname, prompt said you don't support yet, no confirmation or feedback that I would added to a notification list or similar. Do I have to remember to check back? Etc. Would recommend adding something there, even just feedback that 'We will email you when we support this option' or something.
@jcwinter Hey Justin, thanks for your feedback, we will change the return address. Adding a subscription is actually not a bad idea, we will implement that so you can stay up to date.
Great usage of third party APIs and welcome to the wild world of domain names <3
You may want a disclaimer regarding all domains including WHOIS privacy; there's a number of TLDs that simply don't support this. I know we ran into this.
So many kind comments here, I like that. I tried it with a Gandi domain and it feels like the best execution possible to fix the problem that they're trying to tackle. And, it's another great french product 👏🏼
I've been trying to reach support for a month. First over their Intercom chat on September 26. A week later over email. No answer. The company might be dead already.
Hey guys !
Today we’re happy to introduce Nuage !
Nuage is a simple interface that allows you to buy, import and manage your domain names in just a few clicks.
We know how painful it is to transfer all your domain names to a new provider.
That’s why we had the idea to create a bypass between all your providers, thanks to the APIs that they’ve made available.
Seeya long processes, all you need to do is log on and in a few seconds you can manage all your domains in the same interface.
The Nuage Team
@benguedj Hey! Just wondering, how do you compare to Hover.com? I've been using them for years and have enjoyed my experience. Does Nuage bring anything better to the table?
@prestonattebery Nuage is not a registrar but an app that aggregate your domains from multiple registrar to the same interface. We focus on the domain experience in general, and provide tools that make everything way easier no matter the registrars you use. We are developing innovative features like service integrations, email management, landing pages and a lot more coming very soon.
Wow this is by far the best UI I've seen to buy/manage domains. Godaddy is terrible, Gandi is okay, Namecheap is not bad, but this crosses the UX bar over to delight :) Awesome job @benguedj and team!
Quick question: When buying domains, is there whois protection? Or is the contact info going to be public for the domain whois? Thanks!
Also this is on me, but I don't have enough $ with Namecheap to get my API key :/ Not something you can fix ofc but FYI so you know why some users can't connect their Namecheap accounts.
Congrats on the launch!
@ganjianwei Thank you for the sweet words. We really appreciate. We set the WHOIS protection by default when you buy a domain via Nuage, your infos will remain private. We know it is not that convenient to enable the NameCheap API, but for now there is not much we can do. We already talked to NameCheap, and will try to assist them as much as possible to make things easier for everyone.
I love this, this is such a pain point we're all having: dozens of domain names, sometimes some of them we bought, on different providers. Moving them is a real pain. Makes much more sense to aggregate.
Two questions:
- As there's no 2FA yet, is security your main concern right now? It would be for me.
- Just curious, but do you have a clear business model?
@benjaminnetter Hey Benjamin, Thanks ! About your questions :
- About 2FA we are working on it, be sure that security is our main concern.
- We are a reseller of domains, we get our cut when you buy and renew (coming soon) your domains through Nuage
@benguedj@benjaminnetter If you're implementing 2FA net-new, I'd like to see U2F support. Also, registered for an account and will start to try it out once you roll out 2FA in one of its forms. Beautiful design!
@ryanminnick@benguedj same here... 2FA is pretty much a must for a service like this... also considering a brute force attack could easily go through the logic screen.
Just added my GoDaddy account and realized it pulled domains I haven't owned for years. I also don't have the option to delete domains either individually or in bulk.
I literally spent hours last week jumping between different registrars looking for nice domains from a variety of the new TLDs. This interface would have made my life way easier then and I'm hooked now!
Any plans on adding moniker.com to the list of registrars? I'd move my domains in a heartbeat to avoid their terrible UX.
@scottloader Thanks Scott ! that's exactly one of the most painfull point and the reason why we created Nuage. About moniker.com, we are constantly adding new registrars. Also we're preparing a new magic feature to migrate your domains in just 1 click.
This is awesome--just linked my GoDaddy account! However, it looks like two very old and expired domains were imported as well. And it doesn't look like I can remove them from the Nuage dashboard. It's pretty weird considering that the GoDaddy dashboard doesn't have a single reference to them. Minor bug though, I really like this!
@juantabone Thanks for using Nuage, glad you liked the import :) Sometimes, registrars APIs keep sending us expired domains. We are working on a clean way to keep everything up to date and will fix this glitch very soon.
@realdeanward Thank you for the feedback Dean, I'll have a look on that. Would you send us an email from the support page (https://www.nuageapp.com/contact) with your domain details so I can double check ? That would be very useful for us.
@benguedj 👋🏽 Hey Ben, awesome product - well done! As someone with over 150 domains (yes I know, I know... I have a shit-ton of projects and I'd like to get around to building them all) I cannot tell you how long I've wanted and waited for something like this to appear! 🙌🏽 👍🏽
