Hello Product Hunters,
Some thoughts on why I built this Notion Business OS template:
Notion is becoming an increasingly viable (and powerful) tool for businesses. What used to be a cute note-taking canvas for students and productivity optimizers has become the go-to knowledge hub and operating platform for some of the most dynamic startups, product teams and companies on the planet.
My honest view is this: Notion is here to stay. And in the same way that Excel forever shaped the business landscape, Notion is this generation's go-to toolkit for flexible, powerful business solutions.
At the same time as proving itself as a new staple, it's also positioned itself at the intersection of all the most exciting developments that are changing the work landscape: automation workflows, generative AI & personalized software.
Needless to say; it's the place to be for businesses that want to stay up to speed with the best tooling. And yet... Notion resources for business use cases are surprisingly lacking. Notion has an incredible community, but 95% of it is seemingly focused on building Habit Trackers, Second Brains and Daily Journals 😅
Notion can be a serious tool for businesses, and it needs serious resources and libraries to help businesses use it. Just as there are advanced courses and resources available to Excel power users, I want to provide a reliable source of advanced business resources for Notion.
Business OS is a comprehensive starting place for businesses that are already using Notion as their main operations platform. Through the components library, I'll be adding customization options, courses and resources to help you go further; but my intention is for Business OS to be a standalone system and starting point for any business that operates in Notion, and needs a little bit of help making full use of Notion's features.
Over the past 4 years, I've built hundreds of custom Notion business workspaces (as a consultant, and through the Landmark Labs library); tens of thousands of people and businesses have used my templates; many more than that have watched my Notion tutorials and build guides; and at every step, I've been experimenting with new techniques and designs that bring out the most from Notion's powerful features.
And I can honestly say that Business OS is by far the most complete template system I've ever made.
If you're running your business in Notion, I hope at the very least you can take a look through the demo and get some inspiration for your own workspaces and dashboards--there's just so much you can build now with Notion's latest features :)
Best,
Gerrard
Congrats on the launch! Business OS sounds like a game changer for Notion users in business. Love the idea of making Notion more than just a personal tool. Quick question--do you have plans to add more industry-specific templates? Keep up the great work!
@richardwalkerm Thanks Richard. Yes, I intend to add a range of more specific modules that can be integrated into Business OS. I'm thinking of those more from a functional perspective (i.e. a Facebook Ads module, an ecommerce inventory module, etc.) rather than industry-first, but that could be a good way to think about it in future also. Any specific templates you have in mind you'd like to see?
