@_jacksmith Thanks, Jack! As a product designer, I'm excited other teams are trying to build intelligent and beautiful emails clients and not simply another proprietary platform. Keeps me on my toes and makes the space better for everyone. :)
@_jacksmith@soapko I am in total agreement, being a long time user of @NotionApp myself, I have definitely been able to get more productive by:
1. Focusing on emails that are important (although not a big fan of the design changes in the multi-swipe made in the latest update
2. Leveraging connection details and responsiveness info.
3. Following-up on emails I haven't answered, and
4. Removing FYIs in one tap.
Now these are the features that I enjoy using but I am sure there are multiple others like Alexa integration and smart alerting which I want to use going forward.
@orliesaurus Hi, thanks for the great question! See my response to a similar question above. Also, we share our details on our technical security approach and durability at https://notion.ai/trust under Security as well. We aim to be best in class in this area... Feedback welcome!
@guysuter I've read it over a few times. You say that the emails stored are "mine" legally. Does it mean you don't have access to them and that you encrypt them on the client side so that you will never read what I write about idk, "about last night"
@orliesaurus Notion is a cloud service, not a client-side only app. Email content hits our intelligence layer (software in the cloud) so the AI can do things like detect connection strength, analyze reply intent, and measure responsiveness to power features like Radar, smart notifications, our upcoming Alexa skill, etc. Many things wouldn't be possible with a client-side only approach.
The most pertinent part of our Privacy Policy on this topic is in the "Collection, Storage and Use of Private Email Messages" section. We aim to store as little data as practical to deliver features. Specific examples of that are there too.
You can also see open content at blog.notion.ai regarding our approach/actions regarding trustworthiness and privacy concerns. Our commitment is to be tremendously transparent and thoughtful on this subject so people can make their own well informed decisions.
You can remove all data Notion stores at anytime from within Settings in the Notion app. Your email content is stored locally on your device, as well, and it can be removed at anytime by deleting the Notion app.
@vladzima Hope not, we've both been using the name for a while now I think. We could help them think of other ones though if they were so inclined. ;) We actually use Notion.so pretty heavily here at Notion AI in sharing our design specs internally. I highly recommend Notion.so! We adore our "brother from another mother" has they have called us before. Hehe.
Just installed and it already looks super intuitive. I love the advances settings for swipe. Time will tell, obviously, but so far, it feels like an ultimate email app was just found ;) keep it up guys!
@yoavush Thanks so much! We have really sweated the hard stuff to get it right. Like developing multi-swipe to be fluid, intelligent, but also familiar. We're trying to put every ounce of AI into the design & experience in meaningful ways to make it effortless. There are plenty of easier things to do, too; features people want or expect. We'll get to those, too. :)
This product looks awesome. One of the key things for me right now in choosing an email client is having a native desktop client as well. One of my favorite features about Mailbox (which i still my favorite email client even though it's dead).
Looks like a great email client. Really cool onboarding that made me think it is a smart service. Except that when I added a second account, the bottom bar used names from the first one 😄
I use Gmail labels and filters heavily, so I'm curious to see how Notion will handle that. Oh and accents are not managed properly, e.g. my contact "Léo" became "Lo".
@andrewwarner Great question! We operate with "tremendous transparency" on this point. Notion is a cloud intelligence service. It's the best way to provide some of the experiences we envision. We very carefully consider what information is stored and why. Full details here: https://notion.ai/trust
This is one of the industry topics I am personally most passionate about. Check out some our discussion about trust and privacy on our blog...

Guy Suter just reminded me I've been using this product since day one – even that early version became a daily driver for me, and it's been great to see it grow and evolve. This is the best email client, with the most insightful features.
Downloaded and been demoing it all day. I think some bundling would make things even faster, however the multiswipe is amazing. Will keep my eye on y'all 😜
I've tried so many solutions that promise to solve my email issues and jive with the way I work. All have failed. Definitely giving Notion a shot! Congrats @guysuter!
@guysuter Congrats on launching @NotionApp!
I'm (a week) late to the party, but I am REALLY digging it so far. I'm using it for both work and personal accounts, and this is just what the doctor ordered. I'm an #InboxInfinity kinda guy and have been waiting for an automated cognitive assistant to help determine what's important and/or needs a response.
Now that you've earned all of this media coverage, it's the perfect time for (me to plug) @PressTotem. We have a #Free4Three @ProductHunt special, which means we'll build you a killer press page and throw in 3 free months. /cc @rrhoover@sarahintampa
