Ever needed to jot down an idea, quickly take notes in a meeting, or an easy way to clear the formatting of some text? Meet Noted - an open-source, minimalistic note-taking app for the macOS menu bar that's always one click away.
Hey Product Hunt!
I used to use the Apple Sticky Notes app for everything. It was a convenient way to jot down ideas or action-items during a meeting, clear the formatting of text, temporarily paste sentences I didn't want to forget, and more. As I relied more and more on sticky notes, I noticed that they started to take up a significant portion of my screen. I needed something that was easily accessible when I needed it but didn't take up any valuable screen real estate when I didn't want it to. I couldn't find anything with a clean design built specifically for Big Sur, so I decided to build it myself.
Features:
-It's free and open-source!
-Super minimalistic design specifically developed for macOS Big Sur
-Doesn't take up a ton of valuable screen space
-Always open and ready for you to jot down whatever is on your mind
-Your notes will save even if you close the app, close your Mac's lid, or restart your computer
Privacy:
No information leaves your Mac, meaning that neither Apple nor me will be able to see what you've written. All of your notes are stored locally; I don't use servers or any back-end infrastructure. In short, Noted gives you complete privacy, no strings attached.
Hope you like it 😊
