If you’re anything like me, you’ve read your fair share of bad ebooks/free guides. But hopefully you’ve also read a few good ones. The problem is it’s hard to tell beforehand which ones are good and which ones are bad so you’re left filling out form after form hoping you’ll find what you need.
Nonfik is changing the mindset around gated content with a social reading model that prioritizes engagement over vanity metrics and uses reviews to push the best content to the top
Valuable resources get the exposure they deserve, while readers like you can skip the slog of SEO winners and losers, and just find the best answers to questions about growth, sales, entrepreneurship, and all the rest.

Lol. They ask "how many times you traded your email for a PDF?", and then ask for your email to access PDFs.
@shushtain That's fair. We do acknowledge the irony there. but nonfik has 100+ PDFs on the platform, and we'll be adding more regularly. plus part of our work is to provide baseline reviews, so you have a realistic expectation of what you are/are not getting before ever sharing email. We felt the value prop was strong enough by comparison. what makes you disagree?
@shushtain haha acknowledging the irony. We want people to have a space to engage with the best books instead of passively reading them which requires some kind of account system. But you can find detailed reviews, key insights and prompts before putting in any info or creating an account on https://nonfik.com.
@alissaannepagano Mainly the difference between the positioning and the real value. "Social", "free". Information is a form of currency. Information collected by you. What is social or free about it? I would agree with "gated content simplified" or "one subscription for lots of content". Now it sounds like all the fake-free ebooks are gathered for one big fake-free offer.
@mekkiebansil If you claim to collect data only for the benefit of the user, is your platform decentralized and is the data stored being decrypted only for the end user?
@alissaannepagano @shushtain it's not the information that's social but the platform. you can write comments and then start a discussion with others around those or you connect with peers to see what they're reading and what they like. Would you consider product hunt social? what is a better way to describe this sort of product that prioritizes transparency and collaboration/socializing but still requires accounts to prevent bots and trolls? I don't think simplification is what we're after at all, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on what would be a more fair accurate message!
