Newsly picks up the most trending topics on the web and reads them in a natural voice. Now you can follow any topic you can think of, be it NFT, Metaverse, or The Kardashians! The entire web becomes listenable! Now also with podcasts, read mode and weather.

Hey Product Hunters! 👋 I'm Yoni, CEO and founder of Newsly. I want to start by thanking @kevin for hunting our product! 🙏 When we started developing Newsly a year and half ago, we thought: What is the fastest product we can build, that people would be enthusiastic to use, based on the Newsly concept. And this is what we did. First, we developed an app that picks up the most trending articles on the web at any given moment and reads them to you in a natural human voice. Later we added a few categories in which we would pick up daily trending articles as well. Later we even added podcasts that became one of our biggest growth engines. But at the end of the day, the original idea was more than that. The idea behind Newsly wasn't just to enable you to follow and listen to trending "Entertainment", or "Business" articles from the web, but offer you the possibility to follow a topic as specific as you want, be it "Clean Energy Companies", "Defi contracts over Ethereum", "Tom Brady" or "The Kardashians". So now, this idea has finally come to life, with the help of the amazing team at Newsly. Newsly is proud to present: 🎧 🎧 🎧 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET, THE ENTIRE WEB BECOMES LISTENABLE! 🎧 🎧 🎧 Now you can finally follow any topic you like, get the most trending articles on the web about that topic at any given moment, and listen to it! Just click on the Explore tab, and freely search the topic you like on the search bar and start to follow! I would like to thank not only the AMAZING team at Newsly but all the GOOD people that were ever involved in helping this revolution come to life. Be it past and present employees, people that gave big or small advice in face-to-face meetings (but usually on Zoom), reviewed our app and gave feedback, partners, investors, advisors, which helped our product to reach more people. You can also try our premium subscription for free. Oh, and BTW we added a few more features on the app (look at my comments below, you won't be disappointed).

@firas_abboud Thank you Firas! I hope we would be back to face-to-face sooner than later. Don't worry, our product would still be relevant even then. I remember sleeping with the radio on, before the mobile and even before the internet more than 30 years ago...

@yonitzafrir I like that you can switch from reading to listening mode. I prefer to read, but I can't read while driving 😂 so it would be amazing to pick up where I let off while I drive to work. I also love that you can follow a topic and it curates sources from all over. Well done 👏 !

@xiaoshan_brady_zuo thanks Brady. Did you notice how you can navigate from the full screen, into the articles with in-app browsing, or you can navigate to the podcast episode description, or the podcast entire list?

@yonitzafrir yes, I am able to navigate to the articles and read them. That is a cool feature. I am wondering if the news are customized for each user. When I just opened the app, it showed a news on Fighting Irish quarterback starting in NFL next week (I graduated from Notre Dame). So I played the news article. Maybe it is just pure coincidence, but it works great.

@xiaoshan_brady_zuo In that case it wasn't. NFL is super trending all the time, but the good news you can customize it! Just search "fighting irish" at the search bar on the Explorer and start following! Every time there is an article on the web, anywhere it would get it to you, so you can listen (or browse, if you into that)!
The UX is really well designed… looks sleek.

This is a wonderful product. What regions' content do you currently serve and is it only in English?

@rucha_joshi8 So for the podcasts, you can get any country you want. For listening to trending articles it is only in English (although we have a small experiment with Spanish and Portuguese from with Colombia and Brazil trending articles). But for regions, you can get anything, if you search it on the search bar, under the Explore tab. So let's say you want to know about Covid-19 in Paris. Just put this (or 'Covid-19 Paris' would be enough) and you can get articles on that subject read to you. Your own personal newscaster!

@tejaswi_bitra yes. But actually the categories on the Explore are trending as well (just per category), and if you define you own topics (be it Bitcoin Tom Brady or The Kardashians) it would pick whatever is trending on THAT SPECIFIC TOPIC at any given moment

You know.. I didn't expect to like this. I learned about Newsly's product a few weeks ago, and it's surprisingly nice! Great UI, great feel to the product and all that, but the offering itself is great. Congrats too the Newsly team on making a nice product!
