New.to was built from the frustration of limited results on other travel platforms. New.to aims to be a one-stop shop for everything you can do in your destination. From live-events, to places to stay, and top-tier local experiences, you can find it all here.

šŸ‘‹ Let me introduce you to New.to! šŸ›« New.to aims to approach the online travel guide space in a slightly different way. We were tired of finding the same recommendations on massive travel websites that are limited by their own bookable experiences. šŸŒ“ On New.to weā€™ve attempted to build the most complete resource of all the things you can do for your destination. Weā€™ve curated the best hotels, restaurants, bookable attractions, top sights, future meetups, and local guided experiences. Weā€™re also currently working on adding events! šŸ«” Our goal is for you to find absolutely everything you need directly on New.to. āœļø  Think of something that might be missing from your destinationā€™s page? Get in touch with us and let us know. Since weā€™re a small team, we can add and change content on our website quite quickly. (Something that those mammoth travel websites canā€™t ;) ). šŸ’Ŗ  New.to is currently only out as a basic MVP, there are lots of things to improve, and datapoints to add - but weā€™re proud of the current offering weā€™ve curated. It is also currently only available for any area in france with more than 20,000. Once we feel like our ā€œthings to doā€ page is complete then we will expand into more countries. šŸ™ Weā€™re looking forward to any feedback you may have! --- šŸ™„ As a side note! šŸ“ø I run an SEO themed Youtube channel, and have decided to use New.to as a Build-in-public case study for my audience. I have a series where I basically update the audience every month on the changes iā€™m making and how that is leading to organic growth for the website. šŸ“ˆ I think itā€™s super cool because its a case study from day 0, and iā€™m being fully transparent about everything relating from how iā€™ve built it, to my complete SEO strategy and even all the growth methods that iā€™d usually never share. šŸš€ If youā€™re interested in following along, then feel free to subscribe, and tune in every month for the updated video! šŸ¤— Thanks for stopping by and for reading!

@jaumeros @jaume_ros2 This looks great! Really useful with all the possible services available. Congratulations on the launch. Just curious about how you are planning to expand the database at scale?
Jaume Ros
@jaumeros @porush_puri Thanks Porush for the constant support! Honestly not too sure as of just yet. I'm trying to simplify as much as possible adding new data, which would help me scale the database quicker, so theres a few things that are just API calls which will be quick. But there's a lot of data that I have to scrape so well see how that works. Any suggestions?

@jaumeros @porush_puri @jaume_ros2, It sounds liek you already have this approach but regardless I wanted to share what I would do. I would run all of it as a set of templates filled out through API calls or by data scraping. Don't host the information anywhere instead whatever the user searches or clicks on becomes the input for the API calls. If the user wants "France" then you API call all the best places to eat in "France" best hotels in "France".... If they want "Vilanova" you pass vilanova on as the attribute. This way you can search at the country region city or municipality level, not have to host anything and always have the most up date content. Main issue though is you dont have anything for google to recognize and SEO rank you as it would be constructed live for every client, unless you save the data every so often just so google can rank you.

Quick feedback: I might include the search text field in the top nav so it's easier to access. This is the first thing I looked for when visiting the site.

@rrhoover Appreciate the feedback Ryan! It's definitely one of the things on the list. Thanks for checking it out!!

Does New.to also provides recommendations about local culture, i.e. how to easier integrate with the local society, even for a short term or holiday?
Jaume Ros
@igorpavlov This is a great question. My initial thought was to add local meetups so that if you'd like to integrate and meet people then you can. I also added in airbnb experiences which are usually led by a local. That's definitely not enough, but i think its a solid start. Do you have any ideas about how I could go about doing that?
Igor Pavlov
@jaume_ros2 Honestly, not sure, but I think this is how AirBnB became so popular because it made you closer to locals, so if you find a way to gain information on how to get best local experience (you know, stay away from touristic places and dive into the real culture), that may be a killer feature. I would call it "hidden gems" feature and try to make it very premium, so it is not exposed to many people, also suggest NOT to share via social media to keep them hidden as they are.
