So cool! *_* I would love to try it out! Congratulation on the launch! ^_^ Does it work on any browser or the focus is on Chrome? :))
Lakshman Pasala
@maria_brm , we spent a significant amount of time to make it work across most of the browsers. The browsers we have tested for are Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Brave and Edge across desktop and phones.

“neverinstall supercharges your favorite apps with lightning-fast internet speeds and powerful computing.” Meanwhile → “What is the workspace configuration in the free plan? Workspaces by default are of 2vCPU compute, 4GB memory, and 5GB storage.” With 4 GB of RAM I’m pretty sure neverinstall would be much worse at handling design software than my low-power laptop…
Lakshman Pasala
@anna_0x , these configurations are part of our Free Plan which we intend to give to every user perpetually while we also offer paid plans for higher configurations that are sufficient for hardware intensive design tools. We have spent significant amount of time in innovating and optimizing our infrastructure layer to bring down our costs, but we intend to increase default configuration even further as we scale up and scale out our infrastructure.

This is an amazing idea. I see that so many are in this race to create this type of service. Congrats. All the best.
Lakshman Pasala
@basharath thanks for the kind words. We are just getting started and there are several things we've planned for this year. :rocket: :rocket:

I'm not sure I understand this, but I like it as a way of organising apps. I can already browse websites and run apps and programs (not web apps) on my computer, and without wifi, but Never Install can't run any apps not approved and configured for the Never Install platform. Some questions: 1) Does the service involves remotely accessed virtual machines? 2) Is it like an alternative to a VPN for specific apps? 3) The data protection laws of where it is hosted matter, so which country is this cloud platform hosted in?
Ram Pasala
@ianmayman Really appreciate for your detailed queries. Let me explain about the problem we are trying to solve and as per your feedback we will try our best to elaborate it on the website as well. Problem: As you mentioned you are able to run most of the apps on your computer. But as more & more apps are consuming memory, compute and storage which would significantly slow the computer performance. In a way we are always dependent on the limited nature of hardware we buy in our lifetime. Solution: What if you are not dependent on your computer hardware anymore. All your apps hosted in cloud and accessible directly from your browser without the need to download or installation. We are trying to solve this very same problem. 1) Yes, we host these apps in powerful remote machines which are streamed directly to your browser. (Think of it as Netflix for apps ;) 2) Yes, the browsers hosted in different server locations act as your VPN. You dont need to download or install any VPN anymore. 3) Currently, our servers are located in 4 regions - US, UK, India and Singapore. Hope I was able to answer your queries, happy to answer more!

Hello people of PH! 🐱 We’re thrilled to announce that we’re coming out of Beta with the launch neverinstall 2.0. 🚀 We’ve come a far way from roughly 100 registered users to more than 3000 daily active users today, with a total registered user base of 200,000 in less than a year. This past year has been a growing journey for us and our users have been key to the evolution of the product. 😀 When we launched the product we were not sure how the public would react to a product such as neverinstall, however, we were absolutely delighted when we noticed an overwhelming response from the public. Not only was the audience engaging with the platform far exceeding our expectations, users were interacting with the product and providing valuable feedback to make known what they wanted from it. Developing on the request of our users, we added more apps on our platform, including new design tools such as Figma, as well as leading communication applications including Slack and Telegram with more to follow. 🛠️ We started the project with just the two of us, set out to bring a paradigm shift in the realm of personal computing. From a team of just us twins, we’re now a team of 14 passionate engineers, designers and writers trying to deliver the best personal cloud computing experience to our users. Over the next year, we plan to double the size of our team and reach a registered user base of over 1 million. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank @kevin for hunting us, and all our users who have supported us throughout this exciting journey. 💖
Anna Filou
@kevin @ram_pasala hey, Figma and other design tools are listed as “coming soon” on the landing page. Does that mean I cannot use neverinstall to access Figma? 🤔
Ram Pasala
@kevin @anna_0x Figma is still in beta, we are testing the performance. We will make it live soon. Thanks
Ram Pasala
@kevin @anna_0x @owenfar1 Yes figma already has a web app. But if you run it along with other apps in your computer, it significantly consumes high memory and compute. Now if figma is running on a remote powerful computer and you are able to access it through your browser. This would be much faster than your local figma app.
Connor Jewiss
This is awesome! Hate having to download apps for this and that. Solves a huge inconvenience. Congrats on the launch, too.
Lakshman Pasala
@connorjewiss , the future that we plan to reach is to have a single device with a good display and perpetually connected to the internet that will be our laptop, desktop, phone, PlayStation, etc and we pay for it the same manner we pay for our Internet. :)
Ram Pasala
@connorjewiss Thank you for the feedback and support 🐱
Hemant Warier
Many people are unable to keep up with the rate of computer hardware innovation, either because they can't afford it or because they find it hard to play catch-up. Plus, desktop applications are often slow, bloated, and take up too much disk space. So I think neverinstall is solving multiple problems with one solution. Congratulations @ram_pasala & @lakshman_pasala on launching neverinstall on Product Hunt. 🚀 I would love to take a look at your app and future versions of the website in more detail and offer you feedback. Please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/hemantwarier/). I hope we can add value to each other as makers! 🙌
Lakshman Pasala
@hemantwarier , bang on! Thanks for support.
Ram Pasala
@lakshman_pasala @hemantwarier Thanks a lot for your detailed review and assessment on the problem we are trying to solve. We would be happy to connect with you!
Athul Suresh
Im using neverinstall everyday to open 100 of tabs on chrome on my m1 macbook. Supercool to see new features. Is android studio fully compatible in this release?
Ram Pasala
@athulsuresh Thank you for the feedback! We are adding bare metal instances in few days which would support emulators on android studio. Stay tuned!
Bill Hinostroza
This is a fascinating product. I have a question regarding the hardware on the free plan. It's currently set to 2vCPU and 4GB RAM. How often will the hardware be changed?
Ram Pasala
@billh93 The base free plan configurations won't change till we get a sizeable feedback from the users. We feel the base configuration would be enough to operate apps with decent resource requirements.
Jonas Schaller
wooow, what an amazing product, amazing design, very easy to use and so usefull. Love it and i am going to use it
Ram Pasala
@jonassc Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it.
Nilay Jayswal
That fact that it reduces the hardware dependencies is the most attractive value proposition to me. No need to change/upgrade your devices' hardware every second year. A lot of savings for the end user Loved it!
Ram Pasala
@nilay1101 Totally agreed! We are trying to bring a paradigm shift in the way we use applications today!
Rishank Pandey
Damn, this is exciting stuff! Don't think I'll be looking out for a new laptop anytime soon now - Neverinstall ftw :)
Ram Pasala
@rish1907 Thank you for the feedback, loved hearing it 🐱

Hardware has failed us. Hello everyone!🐱 When my twin brother and I started building neverinstall, 🚀 the idea was to create a platform that would circumvent system requirements, allowing users to get a native app experience from any device without limiting themselves to machines. We decided it was time to bring a fundamental shift in personal computing and leverage the cloud to deliver it. We’re building a platform that allows users to run a variety of GUI applications 💻, pre-configured within neverinstall that can run without the need for downloading or installation, or upgrading hardware. Resource hungry applications are streamed to the user with dynamic resolution adjustments to accommodate various internet speeds. Over the past year we’ve been testing and developing the platform, adding new features and functionalities and listening to what our users need. Today, we are coming out of Beta with the launch of neverinstall 2.0. 🎉 Here’s what’s new at neverinstall: A brand new UI ✨ We’ve optimised the platform and changed the UI for improved access, better visibility of the workspaces and higher performance. Data Saver Mode 📡 The platform now offers a data saver mode to allow users with lower internet speeds or limited usage quotas to reduce their data consumption by up to 50%. Mobile Portrait Mode 📱 We now support both landscape as well as portrait mode for mobile usage of neverinstall, adding more flexibility to the platform. New servers in Europe 🌎 Earlier this year, our new servers in the United Kingdom went live. These would enable European users to get improved performance and smoother access to the platform. Subscriptions 💰 We’re delighted to announce that we’ve now launched our subscription plans. Users can subscribe to a Standard or a Premium plan to access higher compute, memory and faster build times. However, the free tier remains unchanged with unlimited usage and unrestricted access to all apps. We would like to thank all our users for being with us throughout this journey and offer sincerest thanks to @kevin for hunting us. 💖
Artur Asatryan
Really useful product for starters who don't have FAST PCs! Even though there are some competitors, but still a large room for improvements!
Ram Pasala
@artur_asatryan3 Thank you for sharing your feedback, yes we are optimising the performance and improving the product flows.
Ram Pasala
@artur_asatryan3 Thank you, we got ton of feedback from our users to get to this pricing, glad you liked it:)
Mukul Mehta
Congratulations on the launch! The interface looks really clean, and I can't wait to use it to replace some of my day to day tools! Most excited about the devtools!
Lakshman Pasala
@metamehta , thanks Mukul for the love! Lots of more devtools will be added and curated wrt to use cases in the coming weeks.
Gautham Ramakrishnan
The best of the best! Been using Neverinstall for almost a year and has been a savior for me! Saves so much! Would definitely recommend to everyone! You can signup for the platform and get an incredible experience and understand the capability of the platform.
Ram Pasala
@gautham_ramakrishnan1 awesome feedback, we have been working very hard over the past few month to roll out features to our users!
Egidijus Gečas
Hi all, it's definitely good idea, but usable only to a certain degree. Not sure how people will be able to play games, as even now it's a bit laggy (when you use vcs & bash), so even with nothing running in a background, it's definitely not perfect. Are you using RDP for remote connections? As far as I understood, you can install stuff with snap (flathub) anyway? Sudo user seems to work fine, so it's a matter of resolving the bandwidth issues & latency.
Lakshman Pasala
@egidijus_gecas , we made significant innovations in the manner in which we work with virtual displays and the resources required to encode. All the apps on the platform are actually being encoded on CPUs with less than 50% consumption of a single core CPU. We will soon also add apps that require GPU along with extending our coverage in regions across the world. The latencies issues won't exist as improve our coverage.
Egidijus Gečas
@lakshman_pasala I hope it will work, as currently, there isn't any real solution, to use GPU graphics on remote display unless you are in a lan network, so that would be indeed a real innovation. Any particular reason you have stick with debian? I think alpinelinux would be the prudent choice there.
Lakshman Pasala
@egidijus_gecas , in the coming weeks we will start allowing our users to choose their distro, customise and even distribute. :)
Anshul Karande
Congrats on the launch of a completely new redesigned product. This is great, using software just got real easyyy, the UI is stunning, really hoping to test out the games and design apps!!!!! Neverinstall going placesss!!! 🚀🚀🚀🚀

Is it like run-time progressive web app dev? Really interesting, congrats.
Ram Pasala
@can_solombaz Yes, it's a PWA, you can install it and launch directly from any device!
Lakshman Pasala
@can_solombaz , that's an interesting way to describe us. In a lot of ways we are closer to that but not completely.
Pramod Rao
Congratulations on the launch! Looks super amazing. Going to try it out!
