NeuralCam Live for Mac uses the M1 Mac's computational power to enhance the the built-in webcam's video feed in good and low light using multiple AI algorithms. It does all this automatically and it is compatible with most video call apps.
Hey Product Hunt!
Levi, co-founder of NeuralCam here.
After launching NeuralCam Live for iPhone (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) last year, today we're happy to show you another version of NeuralCam Live, this time targeted for M1 Macbooks. Using the power of the M1 chip and Neural Engine, NeuralCam Live for Mac applies multiple AI algorithms to enhance the video feed coming from them Macbook's built-in webcam for a cleaner, higher quality look.
The app is a virtual camera app, and once installed and selected as the camera of choice in the video call app it will start automatically each time a video call is started.
It's the easiest way to have a higher quality video in video calls on M1 Macs. It's like upgrading your webcam to a better one but without no additional hardware.
Check out our launch blog post for more info on the product and technology behind it: https://neural.cam/news/live-mac/
We'd love to hear your feedback and I'm happy to answer questions!
Looks like a good product but the marketing feels deceptive. Your comparison of what you get when you sign up for a free plan vs monthly isn't an apples to apples comparison with more features for the paid plan and it's a little confusing as to what you are actually getting for free. It would appear that your marquee feature, AI Enhance, is only available in the paid subscription plan. This feels extremely expensive for what the product does. IMHO this is the type of product that should have a one-time charge, not a monthly subscription that costs half as much as the cheapest Adobe Creative Cloud plan (which gives you so much more).
I would like to try the app but, unfortunately, it assumes that I only have the built-in camera. Unless I missed the menu where I can select another camera?
@chrisfr we've built this first version of the app specifically with the built-in camera in mind, and improving it. But supporting multiple cameras is in our backlog. Which features would you be interested in using with external cameras? Is it a webcam or DSLR?
@levisz Just a dumb webcam, because these M1 Macs are so powerful that I'm using it as a desktop most of the time, so the built-in camera is pointing at the back of my head :)
Hate to stray slightly off topic, but since this is another pay NeuralCam product and I can’t get a response elsewhere… what happened to ProStyle Camera?
Paid a good amount to creators for their styles then suddenly the styles and store disappeared, with no news and no response from Support, Twitter, etc.
I think you make great products, but makes me hesitant to buy in on another… All that said, this does look great!
@rgoodwin Sorry about that, we removed ProStyle from the store a couple of months ago. That said, you should have access to everything you purchased, please send your log file from the app to support@neural.cam and we’ll restore them.
