Native Deodorant is paraben-free and aluminum-free that has never been tested on animals, only on humans. Native Deodorant protects you all day so you can be active.
Love the founder. He's been working in the Founders Dojo. He's an assassin ninja who quickly builds businesses. Expecting this one to be great! I like "Harry's for deodorant" but understand Native is healthy compared to other deodorants. What made you want to start Native?
I am excited to try this. I have also tried many deodorants and mostly found them irritating (literally). A friend recommended that I try straight up Coconut Oil. That is working okay but I could really use a actual alternative.
@ghobs91 Hey Andrew, pursuant to FDA regulation, antiperspirant has aluminum in it. Aluminum is really harmful to your body - it is linked to Alzheimer’s, bone diseases, etc. In fact, I bet your antiperspirant has a kidney warning on the back of it if you check. That's because aluminum in your deodorant affects your kidneys! We want to avoid aluminum, so that's why we made a deodorant.
Hey guys, I'm the founder of Native Deodorant. I created it because I couldn't find a deodorant that was non-toxic and worked well, so I made one myself. AMA!
@yasarcorp@moizali Hey Brad, great idea. I didn't think there would be as much demand for this without a subscription, but based on the comments I see, I think I was wrong. Would you be more amenable to trying it via subscriptions if we also offered free returns?
@moizali no that is not what I was looking for. I tried a lot of all natural deodorants with little success so I was looking to just buy a single unit or get a free tester and start it that way. thank you
I created it because I couldn't find a deodorant that was non-toxic and worked well, so I made one myself! I tried a few hundred different ingredients and about a thousand different combinations before I found one that felt great and lasted all day!
I love that you have the natural ingredients posted on the home page! Clever name as well.
My wife and I have tried all of the so-called natural deodorants out there. Some give you that wet feeling all day and others flat out don't work well enough to continue using the product.
In addition to the subscription model, I suggest you consider adding another option. Here are some possibilities:
— $7 one-time sampler (free shipping)
— $7 one-time sampler ($1.99 shipping)
— $10 one-time sampler (free shipping)
— $10 one-time sampler ($1.99 shipping)
You provide an easy, no-brainier way for people to try Native. I'm guessing they will like it and start a subscription. Send a code for a $2 savings off the first month.
@moizali I've tried almost every natural deodorant on the market (from crystal sticks to tom's to ayurvedic remedies) and most haven't worked for me. I can't use mass market deodorant as the aluminum burns my skin.
@stephenchip suggestion a trial pack makes a lot of sense. I'd like to see if this works for me before subscribing.
Interesting idea, but forcing a subscription on something I'd need to try out first stopped me. Two sticks is far too much product at $20/order to try, and 2 sticks/4 months feels too aggressive in quantity.
The "please give us your email" prompt is _way_ too aggressive. It doesn't handle scrolling to the top (as it displayed) leaving the screen locked up and me perplexed, and after I entered an email address (not a valid one, surprise) it kept prompting on every page that I'd tab away from momentarily.
@zacwest Thanks for the feedback! The Please Give Us Your Email prompt should only happen after 60-120 seconds but I'll look into why it wasn't working for you. Figuring out the right quantity /timeframe for the subscription was definitely difficult. What do you think would make more sense? 2 sticks every 6 months? We're looking to send more than one stick in a package due to shipping costs, but I'd love to hear your feedback about how frequent it should be!
@moizali@zacwest I think the hardest issue is that I don't know how much deodorant I go through in a given timeframe. It's never something I've sat down to think about; I just go to the store when I need more. If it requires I sit down to think about how much I'd use (in a different context than normal) I'm less likely to purchase.
@moizali No one needs to "test" out deodorant. It's an essential, everyday item. They wouldn't do it at a store in their town, so why they think an online outfit should be any different baffles me. Think you need to target better though. One off's are not really that cost effective in the long term, because you will constantly have to find customers to replace the ones just jumping in on a new idea and leaving for the next one. I love the idea of it a lot. Focus on YOUR target audience, which I would think would be families with kids, because they will go through deodorant. Don't let people confuse you. Remember your target and focus on your plan for that audience.
