Hello, Product Hunt! It's Alexey from MustApp. Almost two years ago we launched MustApp because we believe in two principles: 1) Life is too short to watch bad movies 2) All best recommendations come from friends And today I'm super excited to introduce you version 2.0 — entirely rebuilt, based on tons on users feedback (thanks to everyone who helped us all this time with feedback and advice, we love you), with new features like long-awaited AI-based recommendations system (who said AI can't be your friend?), new Series tab, and shiny new design. Hope you'll enjoy it and we can't wait to hear your feedback. For more updates, follow us on Twitter — https://twitter.com/usemustapp, and Instagram — https://instagram.com/usemustapp

@sekachov hey :) do you guys have an overhaul design of the webapp in your to-do list? thanks in advance! I love the app, but i prefer to use it on the computer when and if i can.
Leandro
Been using this for a few months now, and I use it to track what i’ve already watched, and discover what I want to watch. It’s managed to stay on my phone, and that’s saying something, since I don’t really install apps anymore. Well designed and all around useful!
Alexey Sekachov
@leandro8209 good to hear that! Will try our best not to disappoint you :)
@Bernardamus
Curious to check this app, just a quick obvious question: what would be the main "added value" comparing with Filmaffinity or RottenTomatoes?
Alexey Sekachov
@bernardamus hello! I think the easiest answer is 'friends'. We have friends feed, you can find and follow interesting people, it works like a social network dedicated to one particular topic — movies. And also we have an incredibly beautiful app (couldn't resist mentioning this, sorry :)
@Bernardamus
@sekachov the “friends” function sounds cool, but somehow I trust more the critics than my friends, when it comes to movies! Any integration with Filmaffinity / RottenTomatoes scores?
Guillaume Bardet
Seems like a really cool app, exactly what I hoped would be done for something like this. I personally really liked the collections and trailers, and of course the over all layout is great :) I tried visiting a Hulu and Netflix original, it didn't seem to mention anything about the platform you could find it on. I think that would be really useful feature, I hope this helps!
Alexey Sekachov
@guillaumebardet hello, Guillaume! Thanks for the feedback! We are working on integration with this services, but since Netflix closed all their public APIs, it's quite hard to integrate them correctly. But we're working on it, hope to find a solution soon.
Manuel
Super cool app. Problem is, I use Letterboxd for movies and I love it. If it would be possible to somehow sync both services Must would be the best thing ever!
Alexey Sekachov
@mahnouel hello, Manuel. Thanks for your feedback. We love Letterboxd too, but I'm afraid, guys from their team won't be happy about this (though if someone from Letterboxd is reading this — we'd be happy to make a partnership with you:)
Yaro Pat
Love the design! It looks both system-native and unique. Great progress, guys, keep it up! Short question: I plan to move my ratings and watchlist from IMDb to Must app, will this be available in the nearest future?
Alexey Sekachov
@yaroslavpat hello and thanks for your feedback. You can transfer all you movies from IMDb to MustApp using this guide: 1) Log in to your IMDb account, go to ‘Your Ratings’ and click on ‘Export this list’ (or click ‘See more’ under ‘Your Watchlist’ button, and then click ‘Export this list’ if you want to export your watchlist too) 2) Then, log in to MustApp here — https://mustapp.com/old (upper right corner) and click 'Import Movie Library to Must' Please, let me know if everything goes well :)
Benno
great looking app! i’d love to have automatic sync with my trakt history since that is already set up to track my watched movies and series. is that planned already?
Alexey Sekachov
@benno hello, yes, Trakt integration is on our roadmap, hope to release this feature soon

@sekachov Love the app and what it has to offer. Excellent work! It was a real need in today's day and age as we all end up watching movies or tv shows after a friend has recommend. Just a quick feedback the phone number verification in India ( IOS device) wasn't working. In the end, I had to use Facebook for signing up.
Alexey Sekachov
@ashray_sachdeva @vrupgrade hello. Sorry for the inconvenience. We're experiencing some problems with mobile operators in India, hope to resolve this soon. Please, try to login with Facebook.

Great update. All animations are so smooth.

Pros:

Great design and concept

Cons:

Didn't find "never show me this" button

Tyler McCraw
Wow!! This app is beautiful. The sign up process on Android was very smooth. Once I got in, I immediately noticed how clean and stunning the animations and layouts are. Really looking forward to using this. What are you all using to develop the Android + iOS apps? Is it native, React Native, Flutter? I haven't seen smooth animations like this in many Android apps and, being an Android developer myself, I really appreciate the work that goes into them.
Max Medvedev
@w3bshark Hey Tyler, thanks a lot. We’re all happy to hear you liked the app. We’re developing 100% native apps for both platforms and our Android developer was working hard to make it really fast and smooth.

It's Amazing Guys. But do you have any plan to release updates to fix the bugs? The last update was 5 months ago. CC: @sekachov @chrismessina ?makers

We have build Goodshows almost two years ago with the same concept and I am very interested to use this app.

Pros:

Sleek design, Nice concept.

Cons:

Need to login to use the app.

Eugene Lysy
The best app for exploring movies and finding something to watch with your girlfriend in the evening. Keep up the good work!

Love the design of this app — super slick, and very well done.
Alexey Sekachov
@chrismessina thank for featuring us and for your help in everything :)

I really enjoy the UI, I consider switching from TV Time to Must because I really enjoying using it.

Pros:

Gorgeous UI and the ability to track TV Shows + movies.

Cons:

The UX is maybe a little complexe, but nothing striking.

Sarvasv Kulpati

Overall amazing app! I'm not going to be deleting it from my phone anytime soon. A feature to discuss and debate about movies with people all over the world it would be the cherry on top.

Pros:

Awesome Design! Perfect for movie lovers.

Cons:

Facebook Login (these guys are everywhere jeez). Also would love some more social aspect, maybe a movie discussion feature

Bhavik Joshi

I have been using MustApp 2.0 from a week now and the first thing you notice is design. Its really minimal and sleek. One of the best looking app I've seen in long time.

Now coming to features, it lacks many features that other 'Movie social network' have.

Would love to see movies/tv shows tracking, episodes in tv shows, rating feature in ratings.

Keep it up, dev!

Pros:

Design,

Suggestions

Cons:

Missing Features,

Only FB login

Pedro Abreu
?makers are you guys thinking of ever making a webapp overhaul? it "works" but its seems more like a placeholder more than a website. thanks in advance.
Sergei Solo

Completely switched to MustApp from kinopoisk, but hope someday you will extend for full web :)

Pros:

Clean mobile, great experience, comments and friends

Cons:

Doesn’t have full web version with advanced functionality

Raja Simon
Not everyone using Facebook though keep in mind for future features.
Alexey Sekachov
@rajasimon yes, thank you. Twitter and other login options are on the way to release :)
