Hi there, We’re thrilled to announce Morning Reader for iOS and Android. Keep up with the latest tech news wherever you go! • Breaking tech news from the best sources • Trending stories at the top of your feed • Updates around the clock • Simple and easy-to-use The app is free to download and use. If you have any questions, please ask.

@jlft It looks nice but a major design fault is that it is all white. IF I want to check this app every morning I don't want all that light in my eyes. Make a dark mode option.
João Alfaiate
Thanks everyone for all the positive and valuable feedback! 👍
Nic Coates
Seriously love the simplicity of the app! I actually have a Twitter List of 'Daily Tech' which gives me the headlines from a selection of news sites but as Twitter has decided to make lists less visible, this app is great!
Pedro
Very clean interface - love it.

I use Morning Reader browser plugin but I'm not seeing myself using the phone version because, for me, Morning Reader is to read during a very short period of time (open a new browser tab and before I type the address), on mobile I prefer more details when there is need for passing time moments.

@johntheoak Thanks for sharing your thoughts João! Glad you like our Chrome extension.
Jared Schaffer
Awesome product, congrats on the launch @jlft. Simple, clean, and very accurate. Participated in the beta and made it's way to my homescreen. Sits nicely between Techmeme and Nuzzel
João Alfaiate
@jbschaff Yay! Thanks Jared! I'm also a fan of Techmeme and Nuzzel. :)

Cool, the links take you to Safari!
Ben Tossell
News apps are hard to get right! What will be the differentiating factor that sets you apart from the others?
João Alfaiate
@bentossell "What are the top five tech stories right now". We just try to answer this question the best we can. :)
Tiago Machado
Great content curation and clean interface. I'm a fan of their daily newsletter.
João Alfaiate
@tiagomachado Thanks Tiago!
Steve Campbell
Love Morning Reader's new tab extension for Chrome. Once this app gets push notification abilities I'll probably stop using Facebook Notify for tech news on mobile.
João Alfaiate
@steve_campbell Thanks Steve! Notifications has been on our minds for some time.
Evan Knight
You guys should rename it to just "Reader", cuz I go to it all day 😎

Minnix
Nice UI and ugly icon.

I use this app everyday since the beta was released. Keep up the good work!
Nay Thiha
My favorite news site finally released the apps! Keep on. 😊

Love the simplicity of a 'top stories' list nothing more. If the app remains as simple as the daily email then this could be a can't miss install.

I liked the interface, but didn't like how it's just headlines, and then opens up the browser, rather than being an actual newsreader.
Pierre-Marie Galite
Just headlines, no images. Really cool. I hope it will be possible to customize with our own feeds. Where does it come from?
João Alfaiate
@tsunaze Thanks! Customization is not (yet) possible. However, we're experimenting with some ideas like source selection and company specific feeds. What kind of customization would you like to see?
Pierre-Marie Galite
@jlft My personal tech feed (TheVerge, Engadget etc). I would've said the number of days to get the news, but I really think that yesterday's news is more than OK :). And maybe the number of news, like, I want to get 30min of reading from yesterday's news.
João Alfaiate
@tsunaze Cool ideas, thanks!
Sebastian Klett
Great design and idea, I think it would be great to include your own sources and the number or amount (in mins) of news everyday
Ryan Guinee
@jlft location-specific news that isn't the Bay Area
evan
Love the clean interface, would be great if the format of the articles we're reformatted similarly. No pictures just text and links.
João Alfaiate
@realevanbrown Thanks for your suggestion Evan! That would work using something like the Readability Parser API: https://www.readability.com/deve...
Samir Doshi
are you finding too much saturation for services like this?
João Alfaiate
@samir_doshi I believe there is still space for experimentation and niche products.
Samir Doshi
@jlft for sure - all the best -- looks styled really well and I will be looking forward to trying it!
