by

Incorporating a virtual assistant, remote controllable props, live host over video conference, and puzzles in the real world & the digital world. Moonshot is the only massive remote team escape experience on the planet designed for 10-100 players.

This is creative. Logistically how does this work if you have 10 people on Zoom shouting commands, @crina_oana_bordas?

@crina_oana_bordas @rrhoover haha my first thought exactly 🥴

@rrhoover Hi Ryan! Based on our experience from building our previous remote escape game Lola in Spaceº, we find that teams of 5-8 works best. After that it can get messy. For Moonshot, we divide large teams into smaller units of 5-8 players to compete in a real-life space race. 🏆It also has many touch points for each team to interact with, without bottle-necking the game master: such as the virtual assistant, real-world puzzle content and props on the Lunar station that the players can control. Most of our customers have teams larger than 10 players so it was important for us to find a way to have larger teams play together in a meaningful way. 😊

@rrhoover @nicbyron yep you are sopt on! How to scale virtual meeting size while maximizing immersion was our design challenge for Moonshotº 🔥

Looks awesome! I would definitely try it with friends. Pointer: it was not clear if you are offering a platform for people to build virtual escape rooms, or you already built the escape rooms and you are inviting people to play. I got the feeling that it is the former, so I haven't registered, I would just like to play it ones there is a game setup.
Crina Oana Bordas
@pinter69 Hi Peter! Thanks for the feedback. That's a very good point. We have already built the escape room and we're trying to showcase how it works :)

I have been to Reason before the pandemic for their physical games. This looks like a nice pivot for Covid.

@tylerlerman Appreciate it, Tyler!

Super interesting, can’t quite tell from the video but is there a live “host” like in an meatspace escape room, or is that automated. Structured social activities for groups feels key especially now.
Crina Oana Bordas
@nabeel Hi Nabeel, we do have a live host to progress the narrative, guide players and help with hints :) Agree that structured social activities are key!
Jonathan Bernal
Never seen something like this in an escape room.
Crina Oana Bordas

Why are we going to the moon?
Crina Oana Bordas
@zachshaw because this challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win! JFK ;)
Jordan Foroud
I'm a bit confused, how does it work exactly?
Crina Oana Bordas
@jordanforoud Hi Jordan! It's a remote experience where teams video conference in to compete with each other in a race to the moon. Each team is playing the game at the same time. All bookings are private and designed for large teams that are subsequently split into smaller units. Players interact with : - a live host (astronaut stranded on the moon), - remotely triggered props on the lunar station (players can trigger actions in the real world from their computer), - virtual assistant (which gives access to digital puzzles and enables the players to interact with the station as well). Hope this clarifies it a bit :) LMK if you have any questions!
Mark Champagne
I don’t like escape rooms or tight spaces, but this looks interesting.
Crina Oana Bordas
@markchampagne The beauty of doing it online is that you're not stuck in a small real world space :)
