Nice guys, we were literally talking about how we needed this feature this morning, now it's live just as we need it! :-) We've been using Mollie for @partywithalocal for the last month and we are really happy. We especially chose Mollie as most of our transactions so far are coming from people in Netherlands, so we needed to support iDEAL. Mollie was easy to implement, well documented, fast support & low transaction fees.
Giel
@dan_fennessy @partywithalocal Glad you like it! Let us know if you need any help with the implementation or with anything else. 😊

Mollie has a great momentum here, after launching the Checkout earlier. Recurring payments are really a new playing field, empowering merchants far beyond the possibilities offered by banks. Power to the merchants!
Giel
@kazper thank you for the kind words. 😘

Mollie is a payments company based in Amsterdam. Because we really care about customer experience we're working on several new products. Today we're releasing 'Recurring', automatic payments for subscriptions, credit top-ups, and more. Mollie Recurring is an elegant yet powerful solution for collecting customer payments recurrently.

I love Mollie and the way they innovate on the Dutch/European market. I am a long time customer of theirs and was waiting forever for this recurring functionality to launch. I love it! Thanks Mollie!!

@lucyeind No problem! I'm glad you like it. πŸ™‚

Too bad they don't support American Express. Also, they have a 0.25€ fee for refunds, which also makes Stripe more advantageous.

@nspehler Dealing with Stripe's disputes makes me want to switch very, very badly. $15 per dispute or failed, kind of feels like the old banks...
Adriaan Mol
@nspehler Big difference is that we also support local payment methods in Europe like SEPA Direct Debit. Mollie suits better for European needs.
Nicolas Spehler
@jaapvannes I'm never had disputes, so I guess it won't be an issue until it actually happens. But then, I'll probably just refund the money before the customer files a dispute with their bank...
Nicolas Spehler
@adriaanmol I guess I'm not in an industry where the customers would prefer direct debit as opposed to a recurring credit card transaction. Plus, direct debit is immediate, when most customers have a 30 to 60-day differed debit with their credit cards.

@nspehler Think so, if you compare our pricing with SlimPay you'll notice our solution and pricing is very competitive: https://www.slimpay.com/pricing/

Are you planning to add a feature like Stripe's payments "pre-authorization" ?
Giel
@izziaraffaele not at the moment, sorry. Maybe in the future πŸ˜‰

@gielcobben -- Mollie looks nice, I've added it to my stack. I just have few queries, how does mollie handle the fraudsters? I saw in your website that fraud monitoring is in place, but how reliable is that? I'm an ebay seller, so I've seen quite a lot of fraudsters, its hard to tackle, so eager to know how does mollie handle these fraudsters? As you know, there are a lot of friendly fraudsters / hackers, who use others Creditcard information to buy stuff, later the owner will file a chargeback. Its pretty common these days (as Credit cards are getting weak everyday). Especially if you are selling digital goods online, you would have faced atleast 10 fraudsters by now. Do you recommend additional fraud monitoring along with mollie for digital sellers??? Good luck!
Giel
@raminjpr Thanks for the compliments! πŸ™‚ We have a specialised team that is constantly monitoring every transaction. Besides our own monitoring we use partners specialized in creditcard monitoring. It might be an idea to force each customer to confirm the payment with a secure code (3D Secure). However this might impact your conversion in a negative way because this tool isn't common or even available in certain countries. When using 3D Secure the cardholder can't claim that they didn't do the payment. Because the liability will shift to the cardholder bank in this case. It still might be possible to file a chargeback based on the claim that de product wasn't received. This is hard to proof in the online world and is a risk you need to be aware of. If you need more specific information you can contact us at info@mollie.com Hope this answers your questions.

@gielcobben @mollie -- Thanks for the quick and detailed response. True 3d secure is a great option, but it has negative impact on business. I was thinking about some advanced fraud monitoring services like "Sift science": https://www.producthunt.com/tech... May be if mollie could collaborate with fraud monitoring service and could offer this service as protection for Risky sellers (usually digital sellers have high risk), this way monitoring can be easier and you can analyze the pattern faster. Haven't seen a payment provider collaborated with Fraud monitoring services, may be just a tip from me...:) BTW, there are lots of other fraud prevention services out in the market. I would definitely contact mollie team in future....cheers..

Glad I stopped by PH today. This is pretty close to what I was looking for.
