I installed it not very long ago, I was always a bit holding back on a plugin messing with my Gmail interface. But man, I should've installed it way sooner. My Gmail is now on steroids! Sequences is an awesome improvement on the mail merge feature.
I've been using Mixmax for about a year now, and really love it. I've watched it grow from a basic email tracking widget to a full scope email platform. How cool!
Sequences, specifically, has become a major part of my marketing tool kit. I use it in several ways, both for big and small outbound marketing campaigns, and even for transactional stuff (e.g. sending out beta tokens, reminders, etc.).
Their support is great, and while they've had a few bugs here and there during the upgrade (e.g. reports showing 100% open rates, 110% reply rates), I'm very satisfied with the product. I came here just to let everyone know, straight from a paying customer, Sequences makes the Paid tier of Mixmax worth it by itself.
I never thought I'd write such a glowing testimonial without prompting, but here we are.
I love the product and hope others try it.
For what it is worth, if I don't see what the pricing will be after the fact, it makes it hard to justify the time to investigate the platform, because I suspect your hiding the pricing for a reason.
Everytime Mixmax releases a new feature or an enhancement to a feature, they get featured on Product Hunt. Frustrating for smaller competitors like myself. Anyway, I believe my Gmail-based email follow-up solution is also worth considering. If you're checking out Mixmax, please also look at GMass.
@parttimesnob I've accidentally mass emailed 50 people without bcc'ing trying your product. Mixmax and GMass don't belong in the same conversation. Commenting on a competitors feature advertising your own product is spammy as well.
@nickmacario Right — and having the same product featured on Product Hunt five times isn’t spammy at all, not to mention that the whole point of “Sequences” is to SEND SPAM.
We have been using Mixmax at Shoflo since the early days and it's been a huge enhancement to our Sales & Marketing efforts for auto reminders, team templates, etc. Sequences are brilliant & super simple to setup and go. These guys push updates what seems like weekly 🙏 (keep em coming)
Couple things I would love to see in sequences:
1. Ability to add sequence step AFTER running the initial sequence.
2. Unsubscribe button option.
@johnalxndr@mixmaxhq Yes! Great idea - unsubscribe button! I'd probably agree with #1, too, if I got that feature going. And so true, always with the updates!
Love the product. Only feedback for improvement would be the referral program, which has promised free tracking for life. I've used it with a couple different accounts and am constantly prompted to upgrade at later dates.
I love other aspects MixMax so much, but the sequencing element doesn’t provide enough customization. I expect to be able to delete a stage if I erroneously create one, not be told to or have to create a stage just because MixMax limits a users customizability. It seems the rest of the service is pretty flawless, so I am hoping the approach on this has changed by now. I’m in the midst of looking for an alternative for email sequencing and automation because of this. Unfortunately I also don’t like the email tracking on my CRM, so I was/am really hoping MixMax would be the answer for that. Have there been any updates in this area?
We've been using sequences for our biz dev and sales team for the past few months, and it's a fantastic tool. It's a great solution if you're doing batched, targeted outreach through Gmail/Google Apps, and really is about as close to autopilot for outreach as you're going to get at the moment. Love how fast Olof and the Mixmax crew push updates and incorporate customer feedback as well.
I recently helped produce a large-scale event last month for local entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development. I only installed Mixmax a month or so prior and the service was incredibly helpful in my endeavor. Mixmax Sequences and contact lists made it dead simple to manage communications with vendors and speakers.
I found myself constantly checking the "live feed" feature. I wanted to know who opened my email, because if so, that meant I would likely get a response soon, and that meant I was on the road to a successful event. It's a page full of analytics about your sent email. I believe this is the cornerstone of Mixmax's growth.
Mixmax is so sticky. Throughout the launch of our event, I had my live feed up all the time. Even now, I check it multiple times a day. I'm always on it. Now I recognize their logo instantly. If they change it tomorrow, it won't be long before I learn their new one. As far as retention-based growth goes, I think they're brilliant at utilizing email analytics as a way to bring people back.
Regarding viral growth, they do a good job of getting their own word out via email (a la hotmail). They have a fantastic onboarding process, but at one point they ask for referrals to 7 friends from your contact list in exchange for a free upgrade to Mixmax.
I didn't like this part. I wasn't familiar enough with Mixmax at that point in time to recommend it to anyone else. Plus, the message they provide is cliche and comes across spammy (one friend thought it was actual spam).
I see a lot of tech startups do this too early on in the signup process. "Tweet us. Share us." Nope, sorry, I don't know you yet. I would much rather refer Mixmax 7-14 days after becoming very activated/intimate with the service. Now, I'm happy to tell anybody about it! Way to go, Mixmax!
P.S. my first PH comment! Thanks @olofster for the invite!
MixMax has been the key productivity tool that makes IgniteSTEM possible. Sequences are so amazing and enables us, a small team of 25, to connect with thousands of possible partners. Nice work!
