@tipeveryday say more: you're thinking you'd send us a distribution list via the api and then send via Mixmax?
@olofster @tipeveryday precisely. Send you a list to be distributed with a few extra {{variables}} like {{location}}, {{interest_1}}. Without the .csv dump/re-import.
I always wished the major personal email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) would have provided this functionality out of the box but I recognize there were a lot of CAN-SPAM implications by giving out essentially a bulk-sender to the masses. This is going to be super helpful for a lot of personal projects. Thank you for launching this!
I've been using mixmax for the past 6 months and it has been a real game changer for my inbox sanity (i use the read receipt tracking, templates and live feed most often). Having mailmerge now integrated means I can finally ditch the mailmerge plugin i was using with google docs and move over the rest of my repetitive customer communications into one place. @olofster It gets harder and harder to resist Mixmax! This may have been addressed before, but is there any hope of seeing the extension make its way to Safari as well? I prefer it to Chrome and wouldn't want to have to switch back if I can avoid it.

Here's why this is awesome: there are lots of tricky ways that sending a mass email (say on birthdays, holidays, or to promote your new thing) can get blocked, routed to spam folders, or throttled. This helps those emails get through by sending individual emails from your email address. Presuming your email reputation is good, they'll all look like individual messages to the filters, and your recipients will get what are, effectively, personalized emails from you.
This looks really cool. But a lot of the features you offer I can get for a lot less money using a combo of SaneBox and Streak. Why should I use this instead of those tools if I primarily need reminders, variables inserted into my mail merges? (Hint - please sell me on MixMax!) Thanks!
Hey @alexsalkever, If you primarily want reminders and mail merge you’re probably better off with us. Not only are we cheaper - you’ll find we offer much more in terms of instant scheduling, cleaner Gmail integration, a whole set of slash commands, shared templates and more.
Specifically on price: For your mail merges you’ll want analytics - ours is unlimited and free (vs. $19 at Streak). Our reminders are unlimited whereas you have to pay $7 at Sanebox to just get 10 of them.

I came across Mixmax on product hunt two months ago and thought of giving it a try as I do to all the products here. Became a big fan of this product and introduced it to everyone in our team. This has definetely made everyone in our team more productive with mail management. I have tried all the extensions like Boomerang, Mailtrack, Sidekick but Mixmax beats all the product by a margin.
One thing I love about Mixmax is that the team listens to each and every feedback I provided which makes it the perfect fit for our business. Keep it up!
@olofster @spenceryang Hey mixmax, your mail merge managed to cause my gmail to stop working. Tried sending mail merge to a much larger list on Yesware before with no issues - your service caused me not to be able to send emails for the past 10 hours.
Just want to share that my product, GMass, provides similar, and actually, additional, functionality. GMass won't work alongside Mixmax though because of how they render the Compose window in Gmail. https://www.producthunt.com/tech...
What's the difference with http://replyapp.io/ ? It's look like they can do more than personalized email.
@virtualflo Hi Florian, I think we're quite different in that we integrate directly into Gmail and Google Inbox to bring you the full power of the web to web. As far as I can tell replyapp can't also be used for your everyday email (with templates, scheduling, tracking, polls etc), which is what our customers up until now have come to love us for.
