Mixmatic: Genre based music discovery made easy Today the Mixmatic team are proud to announce Mixmatic V2. It is an entirely new platform, designed to help you effortlessly discover and experience music of all genres, together. Mixmatic has a few core focus points: Discovery: we want to make it easy for users to discover new music of all genres. Our algorithm handles this and finds the best mixes on SoundCloud, categorised per genre. Our new Mixrooms feature plays mixes continuously, so you only have to select a genre to start listening. Together: we are a global community - and sometimes we just want to listen with our friends, or even random strangers. We wanted to enable this in our platform, so we did. Our new Mixsync feature enables users to create a synced room, where everyone will be listening to the mix at exactly the same time - and able to chat together on the platform. Mixsync will also enable artists to re-engage listeners, perhaps they missed the latest live broadcast of a podcast, but want to bring the community together for a replay? This is an option. We’ve worked tirelessly on the platform and have been testing it for months, with the help of many contributors. I’d like to thank the core team for all of the effort they have put in, all of our contributors who have had various forms of input and finally our users, who drive us to build something that we think is cool. We are a fully remote team of friends; of which a few of us knew each other and started V1, but we actually began to make friends through the platform and now we are a team of five. This weekend we’ve all flown to Breda to hackathon the last bits of this out, to launch it together and to generally have a good time. This project initially started as a cat picture finding app built on top of Twitter, we pivoted a little and ended up with Mixmatic V1, which we previously launched on Product Hunt too. As a team, we are really excited to be launching this. We look forward to your feedback, comments and constructive criticism - but please, hang with us in the launch party Mixroom.
