Absolutely love Milanote - it's one of the two key tools (alongside Ulysses) that I get my creative writing and conceptual work done! Congrats on the launch and can't wait for more! Also, when are we going to get mila... merch?! :D

Love Milanote. Personally it feels like the lowest latency brain-to-page tool that I've used – infinite canvas, paste anywhere to turn links or text into a card, colour coding & joining cards with arrows are particularly useful. I've been using it to organise some design inspiration, and roughly plan & organise notes and links for my final year project at university.

@iamsebj Love that description, thanks Seb!

Loving what I see so far. Before I get too involved though with my projects I'd like to know what the roadmap is for monetizing? After all, you need to pay the bills in order to keep the lights on and keep iterating this fine product. Is there a pro version I didn't see?

Love this app, been using it now for almost a year and has been great for throwing everything ins one place and organising it. Looking forward to using it with a team going forward.

I’ve been interested in Milanote from the beginning. It promised ultimate freedom to think and work out ideas on boards. Aimed at designers, I thought it would bring it all together: images, lists, typography. Weirdly, Milanote never delivered on typography. Given the fact that most design can’t exist without typography, this seemed a strange oversight. I reached out to the team and asked if they were planning to add title sizes, like h1, h2, h3. Or any way to use bigger fonts to structure content. But no. They actually got pretty annoyed at my suggestion. Bigger font sizes allow for better structure of content. They provide visual guidance. You can use big words only as an image in Milanote. Years later, with the second release of the product, I still see its great potential – still hindered by the ignorance towards basic typographic needs of designers.

I went from using this just for large project planning to producing and writing/work management. It's become essential for me and I'm glad to see the functionalities keep growing. Indexed tagging could blow all competition out of the water...

Are we allowed to marry a piece of software because I’m already committed here 🔥

I started using Milanote in 2018 as a moodboarding app. The additional meta-collection when web-clipping and the smart embedding for things like Instagram quickly moved me on to casting lists and shoot plans for my photography side-gig. I always liked the massive flexibility in positioning and scaling compared to other tools I've used (while still having the dot grid available!) and now there are additional cosmetic options for your boards. Also, with the ability to drop boards into columns, Milanote has really crossed the threshold into being not just a creative tool, but an organisational tool. In case you can't tell, I love this app. The new templates are great. On the photography side, they're a perfect demonstration of exactly how I've been telling other photographers Milanote can be used, so it's nice to see that newbies can now get a nudge in the relevant direction. Not really a con, but the mobile app isn't really something I'd use. Still crossing my fingers for a fully-featured iPad version. @oliebol Does anyone on the team use Eagle (https://eagle.cool/)? For a while, I was using Milanote to collect images, but now I use Eagle for acquistion and high-level organisation and use Milanote more for arranging and output/sharing. They're a killer combo.
Ollie Campbell
@deejtulleken Thanks Deej, really appreciate it! Hadn’t heard of Eagle before, will check it out :)

@oliebol and the team have built an incredible product that allows for unforced creative, and resilient idea exploration. 2.0 is an improvement on an already essential creative tool.

Cool product, I have been actually looking for something like this for a while and was surprised I couldn't find.....awesome will def use!

Hey Product Hunt—Milanote co-founder here! Milanote was created to replicate the feeling of working on a wall in a creative studio—visual, tactile and sometimes a bit messy (in a good way!). If you've ever found Evernote/Trello/Notion a bit linear or restrictive, then this might be the tool for you! Three years to the day after our first launch on PH we've released our biggest ever update to the product, including: - A fresh new look for the UI - Dark mode (!) - Lots of awesome new templates (we now have over 100!) - Simple built-in image editing tools - Coloured backgrounds for boards - Performance improvements so that editing your boards is faster than ever Not to mention my personal favourite: fancy 3D effects when you drag things around! Drove the developers nuts with this one 😅 Anyway, hope you like it and let me know if you have any feedback! 😊

@oliebol THE MILANOTE CHROME EXTENSION IS TOP 5 FAVORITE OF MINE. The little to clip and save images with the link works perfectly for any bookmarking needs! I thought I was the only one..Premium paid user for 3 years and don't plan on canceling anytime soon! Cant wait to see what Milanote 2 is all about 😊

@oliebol Love it - feels more fresh than before :) well done. One thing I noticed on Safari is that I can't always copy the link from the secret link window.
Ollie Campbell
@porush_puri Thanks Porush!

@bmweinstein Haha glad you like the Web Clipper so much! Definitely super handy :)

I like the "how people use Milanote", showing an example of why the product is useful for me as a user - it meant I could see straight away if it's something I would use rather than having to search around the site features - nice idea, and nice looking product 👍

Milanote is awesome! I like the freedom of structuring things visually however I want when working on creative projects. It feels natural like drawing in a notebook, but with the advantage of tools and templates to keep things organized. Also great for saving / clipping visual ideas, so they don’t just disappear into a list of endless bookmarks.

One of my favorite creative / brainstorming / planning tools. I'm always looking of ways to use it more.
