@nivo0o0 but i still think they should make it free if they want to compete trello. and may be installable version of enterprise.

This is obviously not the MS market. So much hate here without trying the product. For those that have tried it: is this a clone or are they innovating yet? With MS' recent acquisitions, it seems like they have the potential to release some really cool stuff to bring Enterprise up to date with the modern individual tools. While I left Enterprise World, I wish them the best of luck with their adoption rates and actual usage rates.
I get the MSFT & O365 hate, but some people are restricted by corporate governance policies and are not allowed to use Trello and Asana (tiny violin). I still need a project mgmt tool, or a Trello-like desktop app in my workflow so if this is all ya girl gets, she will take it.
This looks interesting, however, knowing the length of Microsoft roll-outs, it'll be a few months before I get to play with it.
@frassmith The odd thing is that I found mentions of this from months ago.. not sure why it was not announced more earlier..
Tested planner. Quite horrible compare to trello.

- Editing cards is clunky
- Bloats that nobody gonna use..

@v3ss0n Markdown support is an issue. Not sure why they skipped that. Cards can be moved as @Daylen mentioned. I didn't find editing the cards all that clunky although they should allow you to expand the card when creating it to get the full UI. "IF" they can make sure the connection with OneNote, Delve, OneDrive is seamless, then this could grow into something decent. I've been using ASANA since it launched and it was a little light in the features then. Hard to compare products that have been on the market for a while with something right out of the garage. Time will tell.

@imswaathik The $5/month plan doesn't include full Office on PC/Mac with apps for tablets and phones, only Office Online.
The moment the video said "Office 365", I exited. Good luck competing with Basecamp, Trello and Asana.
@jabrueckner If they execute well, it will not be that difficult. Microsoft have more O365 users than Basecamp, Trello and Asana combined.
Clearly something Microsoft needed in their Office suite which is trying to maintain it's powerhouse status.
The ability to drill down and view board-by-column, board-by-person, tasks-by-person really quickly makes this useful. Excited to try it out.
The video doesn't make it seem like it goes beyond Trello in a major way, but the ability to reshuffle the cards by person/group is pretty nice. If they deeply integrate planner into the rest of the suite, it will be the defacto method for the enterprise.
I've been playing with it for a week. I'm a heavy ASANA user, but we've started to use O365 at work and if this integrates well, it could be useful. So far, I'm not super impressed. Limited features and the connection to OneDrive, OneNote etc is clunky. Like many MS things, it seems like groups up in Redmond don't talk to each other to create a seamless user experience. I'll keep poking at it..
@deanbrady "I'm not super impressed".. I figured as much. All I saw was a bunch of user experience improvement without real improvements adding value to a planner.
I think this is a great move buy Microsoft... and surprisingly from the video overview don't hate it.
It's interesting the team from MSFT is still not here yet. Interesting design though. Definitely has its potential.

@gollyjer fair enough. Ha Ha ;-) I went to the trello.com site to confirm. No popup that looks like it was designed on a Windows XP machine.
Doesn't seem to have anything that Asana/Trello doesn't have. Anyone tried this out yet?
This is a great move. Given that Microsoft owns other tools that a lot of saas users use - MS suite - having something like this that sits right at the centre of it, makes sense to me.

@hustlinhack made by Microsoft! I think these tools are meant to appeal to people who aren't comfortable going outside of their known tech brands.

If you want project management with OneDrive integration why not just using https://redbooth.com ? I understand they want a simpler "Project" but this seems to me like reinventing the wheel...
It could be great for non-profits who benefit from free or reduced Office 365 suite. Does it replace sites?
