Memory Flashcards — Better memory in 60 seconds

Write down one moment per day and practice your memories like flash cards at the end of the week. Based off of Matthew Dick’s highly successful Homework for Life method.

Hey Product Hunt community! Excited for my first launch here. Was blown away after hearing Matthew Dicks speak on Lenny’s Podcast — immediately dove into his book Storyworthy and it changed my life. Like most of us, I’ve always struggled with remember specific events throughout my life (especially childhood). Feels like the memories are just slipping away. Now, I can go back to any day where I wrote down at least one moment and remember 3-4 other things that happened to me that day. His method works. When I first started, it wasn’t like that. It felt like a chore and I didn’t notice any tangible impact on my memory. But after a few weeks, I started to feel it. Matthew is right — now I feel like garbage when I forget to write something down, because I know I lost an entire day. Creating one story-worthy moment per day is super important to me now. I used to use Bear Notes for this (which I still use for everything else religiously… this was drafted in it). But I still found myself forgetting, because I wasn’t actively practicing with my daily moments. When I did want to practice, it was vague and felt like journaling (which I hate). So I did a bit of research and found out that most current memory champions still use cards/flash cards to practice. And I copied that, but with real life moments. Eventually, I’ll add features for writers/comics/producers/whoever to create prompts and finding interesting themes in your real-life storylines. For now, the focus is on making it as easy as possible to input your daily moments and review them at the end of each week. Simple features: * Text box with character limit (forces you to be concise) * Memory bank to store all your moments in one place * Weekly flash card review of your daily moments * Hard mode that blanks out everything (I use this) * Shuffle that goes further and further back * Import via txt/markdown/csv/paste Instead of doom scrolling on Instagram and X, I find myself doing this all the time randomly. It’s kinda addicting. In a good way. Imagine if you replaced all doom scrolling with active memory improvement, you’d probably never forget a single detail from your life. This is the first app that I’ve designed/coded on my own. Cursor has been a game changer for learning React and getting this done at light speed. Before this project, I didn’t even know how to merge a pr, so my goal has already been achieved. Excited to see how my abilities grow as I continue to add more challenging features. Thanks for reading and excited to get your feedback! Hopefully the login works for you lol 😅 "As you begin to take stock of your days, find those moments — see them and record them — time will begin to slow down for you. The pace of your life will relax." — Matthew Dicks in Storyworthy

Launching soon!
In the midst of a busy workday, it's easy to lose track of what we've achieved. I find this to be a truly fascinating and innovative idea. Congratulations on the launch!

@dejavideos I wonder what about this specifically elicits that response

When works get busy, we often forget what I've accomplished during the day. I think this is a very interesting and innovative concept. Congratulations on the launch!

@feliciana_liu Thank you! The best way to remember to do something is to just do it as soon as you think of it -- so I'm trying to reduce that friction as much as possible.
