Mega cool @nbroby and @aurorakb! Based on early signals what do you think will be the focus going forward? And when will world domination be achieved? :D

@nbroby @tkrunning Just around the corner, jk ;) We're still wrapping our heads around all the feedback from the launch, but we are very excited about catering more towards the Snapchat experience and ARKit

Thank you very much for hunting us, @nivo0o0! Hi everyone, I’m Nick, co-founder of Megacool! We have been working hard over the last two years to solve the toughest part of launching a mobile game: getting users! Before Megacool we worked as game developers at Dirtybit and couldn’t justify paying the high user acquisition cost to grow the user base: the LTV was too low. We had to think differently. Eventually, we found out how we could trigger our users do the marketing for us. Today Dirtybit has over 100M downloads of the Fun Run games. With Megacool we want to help other game studios to become successful with user-to-user marketing 🎉 In short, the Megacool SDK provides GIF capturing and sharing. Users simply capture and share engaging moments from your gameplay with their friends, including a link back to the game. Additionally on a dashboard you can: - Get full insight into shares, clicks, installs, re-engaged users, conversion rates and what sharing channels are the most powerful - See which GIFs generate most installs - Get a real-time view of shared GIFs GIF is a great format to present what your game is all about. It’s short, fun, autoplays on most platforms and much more transparent than a polished advertisement video. Most people have a very short attention span, so a 1–10 second GIF that automatically plays is a perfect fit for mobile devices 📱 We have focused on games since we know the space, but we would love to hear what other areas you would see it useful and any other feedback you may have!

We're also very excited about ARKit apps😺 Being able to easily share what you experience on your screen with friends is something we believe will be a big part of AR. Just like all the #arkit examples out there https://twitter.com/madewithARKit

Awesome product!! Can this sdk be integrated into no game applications, think this could be a cool feature to enable recording of the before and after of home/office design in www.roomhints.com/app. Thanks :)
Nicolaj Broby Petersen
@tiffwillson Thanks ✌️ Yes you can! It's easily done by capturing the two frames and then share it. 4 lines of code actually ;) In addition you can implement referrals and give some free hints to users that are bringing new users in 📈

Wow! What an awesome Indie Game Marketing tool!
Tarjei Husøy
Thanks @n_clemmons! 🙌

Nice service! Your sample snippets seem to be Unity C# -- do you also support other game engines? E g a game witten in SceneKit?
Nicolaj Broby Petersen
@nevyn Thanks! Yes, the core SDK is made in native iOS and Android, so SceneKit works like a charm too :)

Love the idea, such a smart solution for organic growth! A couple of questions: - Is the business model based on subscription or fee per install ? - Are you planning to release a desktop/console version later (in that case we'll need an integration @aurorakb :D) ? Or stay focused on mobile acquisition ? Gaming ecosystem is becoming huge 👊

👋 @pierrebascoul! 1) The business model is based on shares. We have a promotion as well as an fixed indie price once the promotion is complete. Check out https://megacool.co/pricing for more info. Open to feedback as well! 2) It has been addressed by several people so it will be part of the discussion once we review all the feedback from the launch.
Pierre Bascoul
@aurorakb 1) Seems neat. Shares have already a great value. 2) Being a huge PC gamer, I'd love that! I know a French startup is working on a such solution: https://www.showdown.cc/

@nbrob are you guys investing into a react-native bridge? I am quite interested to hock this up to our reward system.

Hey @dinos thanks for reaching out! We don't currently have a wrapper for react native, but it's on our backlog.

This is so awesome!! I am creating a food sharing app called Grabster (https://play.google.com/store/ap...). Is it possible to use Megacool for that as well??
Aurora
Maker
Thank you @magnus_tovsen 👌 Yes, that would be an interesting use case! You could use it for your referral program and have users share clips from the food!
