Recognize your team members with Kudos, gather continuous feedback, and so much more. Matter for Teams include unlimited seats, Slack integration, and Feedback Ritual.
I'm obviously biased but I love this product and I'll tell you why: I joined my first startup when I was 14. I found this startup in the YellowPager - yes I'm that old. I also worked at Intuit, Yahoo!, and startups with over $100 million in funding. None of these companies provided me with continuous feedback that helped me grow. If I was lucky, I would receive constructive feedback maybe once or twice a year. If I had Matter back then, it could have been me sitting in that rocketship headed to space this weekend. It's impossible to reach your potential without our regular, amazing feedback. That's where Matter can help you and your team. Please try Matter for Teams, you and your team will love it.
@imjosealvarado Woohoo! Glad to hear this is exactly what you've been looking for, Jose!
What specific feature set stood out to you? Slack integration? Free plan? Rituals?
@imjosealvarado Thank you! Thrilled to hear Matter is exactly what you're looking for. Product feedback appreciated. My direct email: brett [at] matterapp.com
@benogle the game π€¦ββοΈ No, that lived for about 1 week. Sorry about that... What is still in the codebase is the Skill Charts you created. https://matterapp.com/blog/new-f...
@adityasriganesh It's just been so hard to make it happen in companies because every other product in the Market, other than Matter, has been built for the wrong person. The other products are designed to sell to Managers and VPs of HR/People.
Matter is DIFFERENT.
We work directly with individual contributors (ICs) to make sure Matter is living up to our mission statement of delivering AMAZING FEEDBACK. Easy to say, hard to do. But we did it! And if you take the time to sign up for Matter (FREE), you'll experience what I'm talking about. I promise you, feedback with your team using Matter and you'll receive feedback that will increase your career trajectory.
Amazing feedback is really that powerful.
@adityasriganesh incredibly underrated indeed. Beyond just building culture, we simply think recognizing and celebrating your team is the right thing to do.
@adityasriganesh Yes! While building a feedback-focused culture is important, we know that encouraging that continuous feedback comes from folks who feel recognized and valued in the workplace. Happy feedback'ing π₯³
Love the addition of the new features like Kudos and Rituals! Currently building out our team over here and definitely going to incorporate Matter into a culture. Awesome product y'all and keep it moving.
@lairdep23 Amazing! Feel free to reach out to me directly at brett [AT] matterapp.com if there's anything I can do to help. And if you're able, I'd love to hear your direct product feedback. Thank you!
@lairdep23 Keep us updated, Evan! Can't wait to see how Hallow's culture will grow with Kudos and Rituals! Whenever you're ready to try Pro, let Brett or I know via tai(at)matterapp.com.
We use 15 Five at Databricks to collect weekly feedback, public praises, and status updates. I think this kind of system is especially important for remote-first teams because I noticed we started relying on 15 Five more during the height of the pandemic. However I personally think the content/copy and the UI of Matter 2.0 is a lot better, so great job everyone!
@akil_welihandaa It's great to hear you and your team take the time to feedback. You're already ahead of so many teams and companies. We hope you'll give Matter a try, I'd love to hear your product feedback. My direct email: brett [at] matterapp.com -- thank you!
Seems like a great tool to encourage feedback and build a positive work environment. Will surely save this product to use when our team size grows over 10. All the best makers!!
@bilal_chaglani Thank you for the kind note.
Matter will encourage more feedback and improve your team's culture. During our private beta we found:
- 2.7x: Teams that use Matter receive 2.7x more feedback.
- 7x: Teams that connect to Slack receive 7x more Kudos.
It's also great to hear you are planning to use Matter when your team size grows to over 10. One thing to think about, why wait? Even a team of two would benefit from using Matter - and it's free so why not get started?
@bilal_chaglani We've found that all teams typically benefit from regular recognition. For teams of 2-5, you can always set your weekly Feedback Rituals to every other week or monthly. As your team grows, try updating the cadence to weekly!
@bilal_chaglani π± Thank you! Even if you're a team less than 10 you can still use Matter! Definitely check out our Kudos feature to celebrate all the big and small wins!
Giving recognition sometimes doesnβt come very naturally but is super important in a remote team! Iβm going to push for this to be used in our team, looks like a great product π
I love the emphasis on positive praise and constructive feedback! Both are key to productivity, satisfaction, and success. Well done, Matter team! You have so much to be proud of!
Slack integration is a GAME CHANGER for sure. I'm so glad to see that you've taken our feedback to make Matter a more frictionless experience. Can't wait to use this with my team.
I can't wait to see what you all do next! π―π₯π₯
@david_guerrero2 Thank you for the support since our beta, David! I think the Slack integration will change the way teams celebrate and share continuous feedback!
Matter seems like a great tool to manage your team and help boost their morale. I'd definitely recommend this in my office. Love the feature of having feedback rituals along with fun templates for praises. Will give it a try for sure!
appreciation culture is something still undermined by any organization, and it has an invaluable positive effect on companies culture, best of luck and well done
@ghazale_motia So true, Ghazale. Teams go through rituals like sprint planning and retrospective. Yet we donβt dedicate time to recognize.
Retros are great, but most of the time, theyβre still used to figure out areas for improvements and not recognize!
@ghazale_motia You're 100% right! Appreciation culture does tend to get overshadowed in the workplace. With Kudos and Slack Integration, we hope to see more public praises!
β€οΈ the idea of the feedback ritual (big sucker for self improvement here :) ) , aside from improving team morale and enhancing culture, it has the huge added benefit of making the preparation of performance reviews much easier :)
Is there an option to also make notes about yourself / other people without them being sent anywhere?
Really like that it is all from Slack, decreases friction and thus makes it easier to create a habit of giving and receiving feedback regularly. :)
@veronica_nesheva Ritual really does make feedbacking a breeze. From Thankful Tuesday to Feedback Friday, make feedback a part of your culture.
Internally at Matter, we use Friday ("Feedback Friday"). I'm often blown away by the huge % of people that participate and the hugely positive impact it has in the company.
Ritual, you'll love it.
@veronica_nesheva You can always send private Kudos via Slack or our web app, Veronica!
I love the idea of sending yourself kudos. Self celebration and introspection is underrated. I am sending this to our product team to add this to our backlog!
@veronica_nesheva Love love the idea of sending yourself Kudos, that's a great idea. Sometimes you have to be your own cheerleader!
Like Tai mentioned, we can definitely bring this to the product team! π
Thanks @bretthellman , @tai_tran_matter , @dixita_limbachia ! I know I should be suggesting problems rather than features, but this is what I was thinking. As you also hinted, the self reflection data could be used in multiple ways
β’ one could be for self kudos or snippets of reflection points that one can start their day with (helps with motivation and higher focus when it comes to self improvement)
β’ the other could be more of a log of what you have done/achieved/learned that is easy to organise and search
I have my version of both and am personally finding them very useful.
What a great tool to encourage people to interact more. I think this is essential for a team and helps build the healthy and strong relationships. Great job @bretthellman and team!
Great idea to boost workplace morale! I love the idea of giving public praises to my co-workers on this app and will share this app with all my friends and colleagues. Can't wait to use this one.
@bretthellman Well done! We had an internal version at my previous company and was really nice. They did a monthly prize for the top three receivers of praise and a prize for the person who gave the most praise. The only downside was if you were on a team that didn't interact with the wider business all that much you never got many which could have a detrimental impact on that teams morale, would be nice to solve that.
