Edit: Live now! https://youtu.be/NZArSueGttE (lol Youtube doesn't let you embed streams until you have 1,000 subscribers now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but click through! :) So excited for this launch. It solves a big problem I’ve seen in my own consulting, where people could benefit hugely from marketing experts, but can’t find them or can’t afford them full-time. MH tackles both in a really elegant way. To give everyone on PH a sneak peak of what it’s like to work with Marketer Hire, the team lined up amazing marketers from Invision, Bonobos, Intercom, and more, to answer our questions and they’re livestreaming the whole thing! Each guest is going to answer questions from their expertise in a different niche within marketing that's relevant to startups. If you have questions about marketing your product or startup, comment here to get them answered on-stream! @ChrisToy can you share each expert and when they’re going to be on-stream, so people can plan ahead a bit? And can you share MH’s origin story?
Chris Toy
@staringispolite Thanks! In addition to answering the PH community’s marketing questions all day, if you sign up on MarketerHire.com today you’ll get $200 off your first project (details in the 3rd post image above) We saw the need for MarketerHire first-hand. We’re marketers who have worked at global brands, venture-backed startups and ad agencies (including starting our own). We know how hard it is for companies of all kinds to staff their marketing teams. Even defining roles like Growth Marketer or Content Marketer is difficult enough let alone trying to figure out what makes a great one. There’s just so much fluff and confusion out there. So we spent last year developing our recruitment and vetting methodology and couldn’t be happier with the results from our beta. Some clients are staffing entire multi-channel teams through us. As far as today’s festivities, here’s the rough schedule (will do our best to stay on-time): Hosts/Founders: Chris Toy (Rogue Advising), Raaja Nemani (BucketFeet), Stephanie Schultz (Kabam), Chad Keller (Growth Stackers) All times PST: 11am-1130am: Growth Marketing (Sophia Eng, Invision) 1130am-12pm: Growth Ops (Kyle Doherty, Intercom) 12-1pm: Facebook Marketing (Nick Shackleford, Diff Eyewear) 1pm-1:30pm Influencer Marketing (Sam Betesh, Airbnb) 1:30pm-2pm Email Marketing (Chase Dimond, The Discoverer) 2pm-2:30pm: Founder spotlight: Rei Kawano (Heed Foods) 2:30pm-3pm: SEO (Louis Perez, Capital One) 3pm-3:30pm Founder spotlight: Chelsie Lee (Shipsi) 3:30-4pm: Brand Marketing (David Fudge, Bonobos)

After closing a funding round based on traction from 100% referral sales, we are building an outbound sales and marketing engine. This is a multi-disciplinary endeavor and my engineering degree won't cut it! Enter MarketingHire which assembled all the experts we needed (SEO, SEM, branding, web design) and made sure we scoped proper goals and processes to keep the project on track. Now we're weeks away from outbound marketing launch and the various pieces are falling into place. Highly recommend.

Pros:

Access to great marketers/branders/designers in 1 place. Saves hours sourcing and vetting. Also saves on fees - no big agency cut.

Cons:

Not much so far... maybe a webpage with searchable invoices would be nice :)

Raaja Nemani
Thanks for the review!

Already dug in and signing up later this week or next. There are a bunch of projects that I can scope, but we don’t have the *right* resources to execute. MH can handle that part :)
Raaja Nemani
@mosesofwatches yes we can help :)

MarketerHire has been so, so helpful for our startup. The marketers we hired were excellent and love that we got matched so quickly. It's always hard to find marketers that have the exact expertise you're looking for and MarketerHire makes it super easy. Also team behind this is A+!
Raaja Nemani
@karine_hsu thank you!!

Soloppreneurship can be misery if you're good/passionate about what you do. MarketerHire has the potential to make my network's lives sane again. I need a nap. Haha.

Love the concept of this product and the team behind it. Very excited to see how this product will influence early stage teams as well as larger ones. Given marketing is ever-changing, it is always important to stay up to speed, on demand talent of this caliber will hopefully keep teams who did not have the chance before to stay extremely competitive.

Exciting to be a part of the early batch of freelancers/consultants. Very impressed so far, and can't wait to see how they grow. As a consultant, I don't have find or vet clients, negotiate price, or bill--they do all that. I've worked w/ others in the network on large projects: everyone is professional + expert at what they do

Pros:

I don't have to find, vet, negotiate with, or bill clients. Everyone in the network is professional and expert at what they do

Cons:

No cons yet, and definitely no alternative that I know of

Raaja Nemani
Thank you!
Chase Dimond

Very smart and well connected team behind MarketerHire. Excited to be apart of the growth and incredibly impressed/proud of them for what they've built thus far. MarketerHire does a great job streamlining the introduction and onboarding process for the freelancer and the hiring brand. I'd highly recommend it for all marketing freelancers.

Pros:

As a freelancer on MarketerHire, I've had an awesome experience with the clients I've been working with.

Cons:

Been working with them since they launched and no cons to point out.

We all know about 99Designs and their "winner takes it all or nothing" policy and how that turned out. You are selling a premium service by providing expert marketers and other professionals, but you guarantee the buyer that they can keep looking for others to do the job if, for any reason, they are unhappy. What if the client free rides? As an experienced marketer, the thought of spending two weeks on a job for that job to be handed to someone else is quite scary. Can you clarify?
Stephanie Schultz
We've been answering a lot of questions from our pre-launch Ship survey. Big thanks to everyone watching! @downloadmobile we'll be asking your question about how to make money on Youtube to our next guest Sam Betesh. Sam is an influencer marketer who has worked with Airbnb, Uber, and Fabletics. If you have any questions you want answered, post here! We'll answer in the live stream and in your comment.

Great question from @fllorencekwok - How do I get my first 100 customers for a b2b marketplace?
Chad Keller
@fllorencekwok @stephschultz B2B companies are having a ton of success with LinkedIn right now. Using their lead form ads really works well. They costs are higher than Facebook but the quality is 100X better. I would suggest have Facebook and Display retargeting traffic running as well though. Because through LinkedIn the traffic is going to be very quality as I said you want to make sure that you are nurturing it through other platforms.
Chad Keller
@fllorencekwok @stephschultz We have a ton of success through an automated outreach ai bot that we created for LinkedIn as well. It does come off as spam at times but at the end of the day it converts.
Florence Kwok
@stephschultz @chad_keller1 Any recommendations on free GTM offline and online channels? LinkedIn ads are also the most expensive and conversion rates are hit or miss in my opinion.
Stephanie Schultz
Another one from @itsarianr - How do you launch a product? What is your checklist?
Raaja Nemani
@itsarianr @stephschultz tech product or physical product?
Stephanie Schultz
@tamarburton wants to know - When building your initial marketing strategy to gain WOW subscribers assuming low or no funds. Where would you start?
Stephanie Schultz
@redpromo asked us - What do you think about decentralized growth marketing as a service?
Chad Keller
@redpromo @stephschultz Decentralized are you referring to performance marketing? I think performance is going to huge in the future but regulations are going to have to be set. Because most performance marketers and the best aren't used to working with large brands that have guidelines and restrictions so rules and regulations set by brands are going to have to be set.
