@bentossell I wished one of these audio apps really caught on, like Zello in the old days.. :) The concept is incredibly useful for work, but my only question as they all come is: how many users?
@san_picciarelli @bentossell I'm a month late to this party, but I'm guessing at least millions of users because this app is consistently top 30 on the app store now 📈 😲
@san_picciarelli @bentossell ah in NZ looks like it's 42 for social networking and 600+ overall for iOS. Def looks like hasn't caught on the same way as it has in the US. Even then I personally don't know anyone using it--perhaps they're massive amongst teens or another different demo from me.
Sorry simple and love the voice/filter controls! This app just blew up within my friend base. We're all having a blast with it!
Suggestion: make an interaction with the bot part of the actual onboarding experience so new users can post their first video without the shame of messing up by sending it to a friend
My partner @aroonuidesigner referred me this application. Initially I want to test it and see whether it serves the purpose in communication and whether I'll be able to even use it regularly or it might be another idle app on device.
When I started to use it:
i.) Testing time period: Here me and my partner tested how it works, what we can do in it (reading/live/audio types etc). I remember we came up with common feedback - "It is simply very good app when it comes to messaging".
ii.) Real user phase: I further invited many of my friends (still await for their response) to signup on app and explore the new way of messaging. Further I didn't notice that my communication way with partner has changed. Being on remote and living in different city, communication is key. We have daily call when it comes to remain in communication. Now it's like for even a small message (work/laugher/idle scenario) or any tea break moment we exchange our thoughts via Macro Polo.
How It Has Helped Me: Yes! we all will counter with ok, how different it is from text messaging? Or message is message (be it text or video). But let me tell you there is huge difference when you read message and when you view video message. Text message can sometime be taken to other note and you might not understand the tone. In video message, you will understand the expressions with which sender sent you the video message. Another case was during driving, my friend sent me many messages in regards to work and he said it was much easier to reply or update you quick with any work stuff rather than I'm typing for long or calling you (which might lead to more traffic hustle). PS: I don't recommend driving and using phone! Neither I do it.
Overall, in work perspective this application really stand at top when it comes to messaging. You can assume my addictiveness to Macro that when I saw the message of my friend, I started speaking without tapping on "Start" icon. 😃
I'm pretty sure it will be great app in coming time for friends, couples, families or even remote workers!

love MarcoPolo a million times.. and here is a quick note about how i recently used it:
driving from Asheville to Atlanta where there are several pockets of bad connection, but I wanted to meet with my team about several important topics.. what I did was use MarcoPolo to create a synchronous asynchronous meeting where we all knew the audio recording would be good (because MP records THEN uploads)!
I would love to speak with someone on the MarcoPolo product team about an idea for how to improve this kind of synchronous asynchronous strategy moving forward. Please, let's connect!
