FAQ
What is Process Mining?
The term Process Mining was coined by Professor Wil van der Aalst in the 2010s. It works on the following principle: when business processes are performed in any IP, then, based on the" traces " of their execution, you can recreate the real algorithm of the process in a form that is convenient for analysis.
How much data is needed for Process Mining?
The more data you have, the more improvement hypotheses you can find and test. They usually use a cross-section of data for 1.5 years, but sometimes it doesn't make sense to analyze such arrays. If the process is massive and repetitive, then one monthly sample is enough to extrapolate conclusions for the entire amount of data.
If a company is implementing a new system, Process Mining helps assess the success of the implementation process. For a small group of users, you can correct process errors and see who is using the new system and how.
How do I build my own Process Mining competence center?
Train your team to work with the Process Mining platform
Working with the system
Selecting metrics for analysis
Configuring Source integrations
Creating reports
As a result, the team can independently mine processes, search for hypotheses for improvement without involving third-party experts, and build automation of business processes.
Where does the data come from?
Sources can be any corporate systems and data warehouses. For example:
enterprise systems (SAP, 1C, Salesforce, etc.),
databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.),
file storage facilities,
log of events from mail or Excel files.
What is the difference between Process Mining and Data Mining?
Data Mining is used to find dependencies based on tables with heterogeneous data from different domains.
Process Mining, on the other hand, focuses on presenting data as processes. For analytics, transactional data is used for accounting objects: tasks, orders, requests, and work orders. For example, event logs, audit trails, data about events and object states.
The task of Process Mining is to determine the relationships between process steps, deviations from the norm, factors influencing these deviations, efficiency and scenario of the process, as well as bottlenecks
Hey there! So, I was a designer for this really interesting project recently. It was quite a challenge, but also really exciting to work on. I had to come up with some creative ideas and think outside the box to make the design truly stand out.
One of the things that I really enjoyed about the project was getting to collaborate with other team members. It was great to bounce ideas off each other and work together to come up with something that everyone was happy with.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience as a designer. I feel like I learned a lot and grew as a professional. I can't wait to take on more projects like this in the future!
