Hey Hunters! "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission" seems to have become the underlying norm for creative works online. Emerging artists, photographers, and musicians are encouraged to work for exposure, but attribution is stripped away either by platforms or by those (re)sharing their work. When we publish our content online, we essentially are giving it away... And we believe it's time to stop! We've built UniLink so that we, you, and everyone else could start sharing our images, videos, or any other multimedia content for that matter, on our terms instead. With UniLink, you can maximize the value of your content library by turning your art, photos, videos, or music into real-time APIs: - ready for instant use and integration (in accordance with the terms you set), - always attributed ©️✅ to you, - boost your works' visibility and bring exposure that truly works in your favor by adding measurable value. 📊👀 Talking about measuring value: - you can monitor usage and compare performance across all the places (websites, social media, etc.) where it was shared — all in your Macula dashboard, - ad-blockers are no longer a problem — you see these visits too, - we also catch all the bots and crawlers accessing your media. ⌚🪄 Last-minute changes? It's never too late. Edit the image or change its description — your changes are propagated everywhere in seconds. Last but not least, Macula shields your images and videos from AI data mining 🤖🚫 by default. We use both market standards to signal the opt-out in a machine-readable form: IPTC Metadata Standard and robots.txt to fend off those data-hungry bots. Your content, your rules. That's the Macula way. And the best part? You can try Macula Beta with a full-feature free plan: https://app.macula.link/ Give it a try and let me know what you think 🙌💙 - feel free to DM me on X / LinkedIn - or shoot us an email to hey @ macula.link You are also welcome to browse our docs for guidance and more: https://macula.link/ Cheers, Elena

Interesting concept. How can I use it, as a developer?
Daniel Maricic
@dan_lupascu Excellent question! I've created a WIP repo for this very purpose. I'm rebuilding the https://woss.photo with UniLink API. Currently the issues with the existing woss.photo repo is huge, images are in the repo which makes it with 50 hi-res assets ~2GB and that's the GitHub limit for free repos. The WIP repo is ~600kb with styles and all SPA files you can look at it here https://github.com/woss/woss.photo The idea is to use my Macula handler (woss), fetch, prerender, and serve the directory name `woss-photo` as my portfolio. Additionally, I am hosting the woss-photo on Macula itself since we can host SPA directly from the IPFS with full fallback for dynamic routing. Yeah, this is something we didn't talk about but it exists :) The published version is here https://woss-photo.macula.link/
Dan Lupascu
@woss How do I license? Do I have to somewhere and buy every asset I need?
Elena Tairova
@dan_lupascu hi Dan, good question! You'll be able to license any image directly from where it's shared. When clicking on an image you see the licensing options along with the creator's info. You can also discover more work by the same creator by going to their public profile Macula which looks something like this: https://u.macula.link/@elena_von... For now we only have the CreativeCommons license implemented, adding the commercial licenses is a next step.

It's amazing how easy it is to use and share! Having the attribution there really makes the difference when sharing, as I know that it's really protected no matter what and that it's use can be traceable. A relief for creators :)
Elena Tairova
@carla_pezzo just learned that sharing from Macula directly to Instagram should also now be possible. If you set your profile as a creator it should be possible to fetch the content from Unilink. Need to look into it still. @woss knows more :D

Congratulations on the launch! I’m really enjoying the new updates! I’m currently using the free plan with 10GB of storage, but I’m about to run out of space. Is there an option to upgrade without having to switch to a full enterprise plan? Thanks in advance!
Elena Tairova
@leonardo_rojo Hi Leo! Thank you, I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying the app so far! Yes, there is. We recently rolled out 3 subscription plans ranging from 30 to 300GB, depending on your needs. We haven't put them on the website just yet, but you can already see them under the 'Billing' tab in the app itself. Let us know if one of these options fit 🙌😊
Iulian Dumitrascu
This is an excellent tool! It lets you turn your art into real-time APIs, which means you can easily integrate your content into other platforms. Definitely worth checking out if you're a creator looking for more control over your content!

@iulian_dumitrascu1 Thanks Julian! Appreciate your support, hope you'll enjoy exploring the app and what it can do 🙌

Congrats on the launch Elena! Macula sounds really unique and something we don't often see. A quick question though -- does it handle video content as well as images? And what about resizing? Anyway, looks like a powerful tool!
Elena Tairova
@masonderekholloway hey, Mason, thanks! Yes, Macula does handle videos as well as audio, Lottie animations, and a bunch of other formats :D The only aspect where images have more functionality is exactly that - resizing. The rest of the formats cannot be edited within the app just yet. Here are some examples of videos shared with UniLink: https://u.macula.link/@macula/?s... 😎
