This project holds a special place in our hearts as it is named our fellow — Fixel cat. Fixel is a permanent resident of the MacPaw office in Kyiv and an inseparable part of our team and culture. And today, we launch the unique corporate font inspired by his personality and look. Thoughtful design is an essential component of all MacPaw products, which you may have seen in our products CleanMyMac, Setapp, ClearVPN and others. So our team of designers joined forces with talented typographers from AlfaBravo design studio and spent countless hours perfecting every detail to ensure that Fixel stands out as a unique but clear and universal addition to the typography world. We made Fixel completely free for any use to support the community. By offering this resource for free, we want to help designers focus on their creativity without worrying about licenses or other concerns. For us, Fixel is more than just a font. It is a symbol of MacPaw's dedication to creativity and innovation. It reflects MacPaw’s values — Make Impact, Create Experience, Stay Human — and represents our desire to preserve and popularize Ukrainian culture. Fixel font by MacPaw is a true new basic: an easy-to-read variable typeface with a minimalist aesthetic that can work perfectly with any type of content and in any environment. While creating our corporate fonts, we strived to capture the perfect combination of technologies and humanity that lies in everything that MacPaw does. When working on the Fixel font, we drew inspiration from our fellow Fixel Cat. We considered the unique nature of his identity as we crafted the styles, letters, and alternate symbols of the font. Fixel, the cat, embodies independence and self-confidence, always appearing to know precisely what he wants. We aimed to infuse these qualities into our font, creating designs that evoke emotions and imagination and allow designers to achieve their most ambitious goals. You will notice that Fixel font offers a unique balance of restraint and playfulness, bringing dynamism into the design. Also, we wanted to inspire others to express themselves through typography, and we hope we succeeded.

Working with MacPaw was an exciting and pleasant experience. We had been discussing the task a lot at the beginning, looking for ideas and testing intermediate results. Such cooperation from the start helped us make Fixel font as you see it today. The Fixel typeface turned out to be voluminous and complex. In my opinion, the result is remarkable. Fixel font was created by the team of AlfaBravo font designers, including Marchela Mozhyna, Serhiy Makarenko, Zakhar Kryvoshyia, Mariia Vainshtein, and me as an Art Director. The team held regular meetings and had many internal discussions during the process. Each team member brought their own excellent ideas, and we combined them to find a common logic for the entire project. The Fixel font became the embodiment of the concepts of all team members. In addition, the font was influenced by the comments of the MacPaw team, who carefully reviewed the results at all stages. Such involvement fueled the project with ideas and gave it greater integrity. I sincerely hope that you will find the font helpful and use it in your work!
