Keen to try this out. Suzy and I are planning to do more remote work in new areas in 2022.
Kyle Tibbitts
@rrhoover We would absolutely love to have you and Suzy as guests! Let's make it happen!

We're excited to share Wander today :-) Wander’s network of smart homes in inspiring places empowers you with the freedom to live and work where you want –– and control every aspect of the experience from your smartphone. With our app, guests have total home operation at their fingertips –– from unlocking the door to setting the temperature to turning on the fireplace to adjusting the lights and even accessing the Tesla in the garage. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden fees and one out-the-door nightly rate you can seamlessly split with friends or family. We're going to be doing an AMA at 10am PT / 1pm ET so please drop any questions you have below and we'd love to chat with you!

Wonderful! We have been waiting for such applications for a long time. I don't even realize how cool it is to have control over your house from any corner of the world. I think we all had such situations to forget to lock the door, and halfway through, we remember, and we have to go back. I have been in such situations very often, which wasn't very pleasant. I can't wait to use Wander and not have such problems anymore. I'm so excited. I am amazed to see how many technologies appear every day. I recently surfed the internet, and on https://www.vont.com/product/von..., I found some smart light bulbs. Wow! That's just wonderful, guys.

This is a well-timed solution to a growing trend. With the continued rise of remote work, there are many people who are effectively modern nomads. Why own or rent a house if you can live in a new place every few weeks? As someone with young kids in school, this is not practical for me. But I can definitely see the appeal to young professionals and how this serves a need in the market. I love the focus on smart homes. Best of luck @kyletibbitts and team! Let me know if you need help with swag for your guests. :)
Kyle Tibbitts
@garydarna Thanks for your support, Gary! It means a lot. In addition to being a solution for consumers, we're going to be chatting with companies about offering Wander as a benefit for remote employees. And if we have swag-related questions I 100% know who to come to.

Makes me think of Sonder. Would love to get clarity on pricing — but otherwise, love the product concept.
Kyle Tibbitts
@chrismessina Hey Chris! Appreciate the kind note. One difference with Wander: because we own all our homes we set our own pricing. Wander Homes will be competitively priced at or slightly below the rates of other rentals in the area, but will only be available on our platform. Thank you for the question.
John Andrew Entwistle
@chrismessina Hey Chris! Thank you so much for the support! To start the prices will be equal to or less than other short term vacation rentals in the vicinity. Including the tesla, and other perks, with one all in price - no worrying about taxes or fees! Our goal is to drop this to a fraction of the cost, which as you imagine will be a longer journey - but we see a path and are relentless in our pursuit.
benburns
They seem to be hiding the prices a little bit - has anyone downloaded the app and been able to see how the prices stack up against comparably nice Airbnbs or VRBOs?
John Andrew Entwistle
@benburns Hi Ben! To start, Wander’s are the same price as Airbnb’s in the area! Our long term goal is to have our prices be a fraction, making a magical travel experience accessible to more people :)
Corey O
@john_andrew_entwistle Are the prices equivalent to AirBnb prices after random fees, cleaning costs and taxes? :) More seriously, are these homes are meant to be booked for singular groups or is it a co-working/co-living situation? Are these nightly bookings or longer-term?
John Andrew Entwistle
@coreyo haha we package all fee’s, and taxes into the price, so no one is ever surprised at checkout! It’s for small groups or individuals for shorter term stays. Eventually we will expand into all the ways people want to live and travel, from longer term stays, to co living and more :)
Lanre Akinyemi
This is amazing and looks like it ticks all the boxes for what we've discussed about a working vacation. I see that it's iOS only though 😐 - do you have a timeline for Android support?
John Andrew Entwistle
@lanre_akinyemi Hi! 👋 Should be up within the next two weeks! We actually built the app in React Native so we could quickly support both platforms!
Lanre Akinyemi
@john_andrew_entwistle amazing! Will you notify users that signed up on Android when it's ready?
Zoran Usancevic
Love the idea! Good luck guys
Kyle Tibbitts
@zoran_usancevic Awesome, thank you Zoran.
Jamie Cox
Such an epic idea. Can’t wait till I can book
Kyle Tibbitts
@jamie_treecard Appreciate it Jamie. Stay tuned!
Sean Grossman
Congrats on the Launch!
John Andrew Entwistle
@sean_grossman3 Thanks so much Sean :)
Kyle Tibbitts
@sean_grossman3 Appreciate the support Sean! 🙏
Jim Zheng
Congrats on the launch! Just signed up, love the landing page and concept of a premium smart-homes. It gives me a chance to see what a fully-operational smart-home is like as well. Since y'all are already optimizing for shared payments by default ("seamlessly split"), is there a feature where we can invite guests via email and not have to do the SplitWise or Google Sheets afterwards?
John Andrew Entwistle
@ataki12 Hey Jim! Yes exactly! You select dates that work for you - those dates are reserved, you Invite friends, and once everyone has paid it automatically books and that’s it!
Ariana Waller
I could actually see myself using this! Love the idea.
Kyle Tibbitts
@arianathetechie We'd love to have you stay with us! Thank you Ariana.
Ariana Waller
@kyletibbitts love your idea man! Any places to stay in Miami?
Kyle Tibbitts
@arianathetechie Not yet but it's certainly on our roadmap. We will be focused initially on the western part of the U.S. and expand eastward.
Antony Egorov
Amazing! Love it!
Kyle Tibbitts
@antonchemistry Thanks Antony! Appreciate your support.
Ryan Delk
This looks quite cool, just joined — curious when you expect booking to become available?
John Andrew Entwistle
@delk Hey Ryan! We currently have first guests already staying! If you’re sub 100 on the waitlist, you can expect an email before the end of the year :)
Kyle Tibbitts
@delk Thanks for the support Ryan! Maybe we can brainstorm a Primer + Wander collaboration at some point :-)
