We are proud to announce that the app now has all tools for making home projects on iPhone, iPad, Windows 10, and Mac devices. During the several years, we were rigorously gathering feedback from our numerous customers and tried to make an ideal tool for all design needs. As a result, we came up with the updated version that combines the features that no other app on the App Store or Microsoft Store has.
The app enhancements include:
- Metal-powered rendering that paved the way for better, more natural-looking materials;
- terrain editing tools for making a landscape around a house (this includes pathways, cutouts, and swimming pools);
- new wall type, Curtain Wall, and the ability to rotate a house or apartment on the 2D plan;
- new material editing capabilities with the Advanced Material Editor;
- room scanning tool on iOS and iPadOS devices fitted with the LiDAR scanner;
- photo-realistic, offline, ray-tracing rendering powered by AMD Radeon™ ProRender for Intel-based Macs;
- native support for Macs powered by the Apple M1 chip;
- new templates of houses and apartments;
- Split-Mode for Windows version, and more.
The free version of the app is available immediately on the App Store, the Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, and the app website. The update is free for all Live Home 3D users. Please backup your projects before migrating to a new version, this will ensure the smooth transition to any supported devices.
@aparna16t Hello Alex! Thanks for the feedback! All your suggestions noted, and I will try to implement them with one of the future updates. Mac version already has item 1 and 2, item 3 is on the way. As we try to make all versions to be as close as possible when it comes to features, you may expect them on iOS too.
I just want to say that I am already a huge fan of this iOS app. My wife and I bought an apartment recently, it's a large project getting renovated, and we have all the floor plans and all the details about the place. I just downloaded this a week ago and I've already created a precise 3D model of our new place with this app, and it's just so awesome! It takes all the guesswork about where we can put stuff, what looks good where, etc. Really makes us look forward to the new place.
The app quality is amazing. I've found almost everything super intuitive to use, and I'm really impressed that you've managed to make BOTH the iPhone app and the iPad app really nicely! Usually one is way better than the other, but I find the phone app surprisingly easy to use, and the iPad app is excellent 💯
A few suggestions:
1. There should be a way to preview your camera path before you export it. If this feature exists, I wasn't able to find it. I want to go through my camera path before I export the video itself, so I can see what it will look like.
2. Rotate 90/45/22.5º button. Often I want to just rotate by a preset amount, like I can already do with "Flip", but I want more options! I usually just manually enter a number, which can be a tiny bit tricky.
3. Search feature in project library. I want to filter by name in the library, just like I can do with the objects and materials. This way I can find a type of thing, like "outlets", or an object with a custom name really fast.
I've already bought the year of the standard and am tempted by the pro one :D
