Left — Visualizing time in interactive dots - one dot, one moment
Featured

Each dot in Left is a moment in time left- an hour, day, week, month or year. It's a simple way to see your time remaining, inspired by the idea that visualizing time changes how we think about it. As an app or a widget, dots that make you reflect.

Hello everyone 👋, this is Cristian, the maker of Left, and I want to give you a quick overview about my app! Two months ago, I came across Tim Urban's fascinating post about visualizing life in weeks. That visualization changed my perspective on time completely, so I decided to turn this concept into something I could see daily, in my home screen. What's Left about? It's a simple idea: turning time into interactive dots. The app gives you three perspectives: - Your life journey (each dot represents a week) - This year's progress (perfect for staying on track with yearly goals) - Your month at a glance (for those day-to-day moments) I also created widgets so you can keep these time visualizations right on your home screen. You canals change colors, add special moments and a few hidden extra features. Yes, it is completely free. This started as a side project while working on other apps and my actual job. I want to keep it that way - just a helpful tool anyone can use. No ads, no subscriptions, no hidden costs. While I might add some premium features later, what you get now will always be there for free. What's next? - More time perspectives (a custom date, day, week and a few funny ones) - Widget customization options - Time travel - Extra colour themes and icons I know seeing your life in dots might seem daunting at first, but I've found it oddly inspiring. Each dot is an opportunity - it's not about counting down, but making each moment count. You can grab Left on the App Store ( https://apps.apple.com/us/app/le... ) completely free. All I ask is a nice review and to spread the app, it helps! Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions and questions in the comments. Thanks everyone :)

Hey Cristian! Loved it and even more knowing the story behind it. Visualizing moments as dots also changed my mind and I'm truly happy to see you helping on this. Wish you all the best!

Shame that it requires iOS 18+. I would have loved to try it out.

Very minimalistic. And that's made it unique. :)

First to say congrats to your launch! :) And my little wish is: could you add pink color to the color list, I love it! (True)

Launching soon!
💡 Bright idea
Nice psychological kick. Have you thought of adding some mind-bending habit improvement analytics like: 1. Sleeping 9 hours a day will tick off 37.5% of your daily time 2. The average person spends 6 years of their life eating - that's roughly 52,560 dots vanishing just on meals 3. If you spend 2 hours daily on social media, you're watching 30,660 dots disappear by age 70 - that's enough time to master 4 different skills or learn 3 languages 4. Each dot you see is both a reminder of mortality and an opportunity - Memento Mori meets Carpe Diem in digital form 5. The psychological weight of seeing your remaining time might actually make users more intentional with their dots - a beautiful paradox where awareness of time scarcity creates time abundance through better choices Love how this visualization makes the abstract concept of time painfully concrete. It's like a digital vanitas painting for the modern age.

As a person who loves mechanical watches, I find this is a really interesting way of making a digital time keeping interesting. Haptics on the app are a nice touch!
