Context switching is poison for productivity. When you get that brilliant idea or see something inspiring, you should be able to take smart notes without switching app or tabs. That’s Lazy. One ⌘ shortcut to capture anywhere.

So excited to finally be able to reveal how you can integrate AI to your very own worklow thanks to a simple shortcut. And the crazy thing is that it's just the tip of the iceberg, there's so much you can do with Lazy. Can't wait to hear everyone's feedback 🙌

So excited to finally see this product out in the world! Back in 2020, I wrote a blog post called "A Meta-Layer for Notes"¹ that argued that note taking apps were fundamentally broken: The process of taking notes shouldn't happen in a siloed tool, but fluidly across the OS without the need to switch tools or context. A few days later a founder reached out saying they were building exactly that: @demtzu from Lazy. It's been almost three years since our first conversation and it's really amazing to see how far the product has come since then. I suspect that most people here will get excited about Lazy's AI features (to enrich notes, create automatic summaries, etc), but to me the most amazing aspect of Lazy is still its speed. The quick capture mechanism allows you to bookmark things and create notes in literally seconds. It's incredible how fast and reliably it works. You probably think you don't need yet another note taking tool in your life ... but I'd really encourage you to give Lazy a try! — ¹ https://julian.digital/2020/09/0...

Thanks so much @lehrjulian for hunting Lazy, an honor! Hey everyone! It’s so good to be back on Product Hunt 4 years after winning a Golden Kitty. We've built Lazy on the belief that the process of capturing information is broken. If you’ve ever sent yourself a message via email, Slack or WhatsApp, chances are you have experienced that pain. Often when you're in the middle of something, a thought comes to mind, and you need to write it down. Today, in order to do this, you have to open a new tab or app. And if context switching wasn’t already poison enough for our productivity you’d have to go through 3 steps of distraction before you even get to start writing: - see your previous notes - choose a place where to write or create a new one - be prompted for a title It's as many steps as it is opportunities to lose your train of thoughts and discourage you from capturing your next elusive spark. We've reimagined from first principles the way a software can reproduce a classic life scene where you look for a napkin to jot something down. Whether it's a lightbulb moment or a reminder, Lazy lets you get things down before fiddling folders and naming with a UX that reduces the cognitive cost of taking notes. The Lazy way, designed for speed and to keep you in the zone: - All the power of a beautiful text editor like Notion with markdown support in a command-line like interface like Alfred or Raycast - One shortcut to take notes instantly from anywhere, leveraging the context you're in If all the content we consume was in a web browser, the solution would be to build yet another web extension But we still use apps, like email clients, Slack or PDFs: the solution had to come from a layer above them, at the OS layer. We turned web clippers into universal capture. Lazy is as easy as one universal keyboard shortcut, that seamlessly captures any source with one same pattern. No setups to be done, just a ready-to-use capture tool. You can forget about switching tabs and copy-pasting. Today, we are also launching Lazy AI: the first context-aware AI that enables you to take notes even smarter everywhere. Imagine you hear something that resonates from an insightful video of @sepharoth One shortcut lets you: - Ask Lazy AI questions on the fly - Enrich your notes with the answers you need - Challenge your insights with advanced prompts like a "Brainstorming partner" You're reading an article full of gems from @anthilemoon same pattern, one command to: - Extract key takeaways - Take notes without having to switch context - Save your favorite questions. For instance: "What am I missing here?" You might be reading a PDF or even an e-book — you'll get answers in seconds. More than just notes, Lazy AI extends to tasks too. Imagine getting an email while in the middle of something. A single shortcut allows you to extract key tasks, along with related links. There’s a rising trend of people suffering with ADHD. This topical issue is indicative of a broader societal problem: the ability to find focus is going to be an increasingly rare trait. More than ever, we are bombarded with information from all angles and every app competes to capture our attention. We don't make the exception today on Product Hunt but it's for a good cause: Lazy AI is the most powerful ally you'll find to fight against context switching — the productivity's nemesis. If you find yourself struggling to keep your focus or you're simply a lazy person constantly trying to find easier ways to do complicated things — join us, we've been waiting for you.

@demtzu I cannot wait to use the AI feature in my workflow. A game changer for me still is the taking notes on videos feature which lets me use the transcript of a video natively in the app and make my own notes to it. I am excited to try this in the context of AI. And that’s just the cherry on top of the speed and my beloved ⌘L shortcut.

@demtzu @lehrjulian Congratulations on the launch of Lazy! It's truly exciting to see a product that addresses the limitations of traditional note-taking apps and offers a fluid, seamless experience across the operating system. The concept of a meta-layer for notes, as you proposed in your blog post back in 2020, sounds innovative and promising. I'll definitely give Lazy a try and see how it can enhance my note-taking workflow. Wishing you and the team at Lazy continued success and growth!

Nice! This Wikipedia article click into my head years ago: the attention span https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At... > The amount of concentrated time a person can spend on a task without becoming distracted. > Adult 10 to 20 minutes 💯 aligned with your product

When @demtzu showed me prototypes for Lazy back in 2019, I was amazed. He captured my struggles with ingesting so much data and making it actionable, while staying in the flow. So excited to see Lazy come to life and now be available for everyone 🦥✨ I am Lazy

@kunalslab Thanks so much for your comment, I remember this time in 2019 and our first design. I can't add an image here, but you can check this tweet specially made for you https://twitter.com/Pao_Cto/stat...

Very interesting. You should collaborate with the team at 'Building the Second Brain' and it will help a lot with distribution and feedback.

Beautiful product, love the attention to details everywhere. Very impressive execution and team.

congrats on the launch, it looks like one of them apps you don't know you need until you use it, and then can't do without it!

@graeme_fulton haha thanks Graeme! I got access at the beginning of the year shortly before I joined Lazy, and it really has changed the way I think about knowledge management and note-taking fundamentally!
Chris Moore
I Upvoted but a bit disappointed it’s still behind a “Request Access” prompt. I did that months and months ago, and again today, and still no access.

Was waiting for this product to be released for a very long time :)

Looks great and can't wait to try it out!

Sorry but I can't justify upvoting or giving a proper review if I can't even use the product, as I've been on the waitlist for a long time. It's a bit frustrating to see more features coming out for an app so many people have been waiting with baited breath to get into.
André J
Wow this is the ultimate hyper-mind app! And the design is sublime!

I feel like I signed up on the waitlist years ago to the point where I forgot about Lazy. What's the rate at which you're letting folks in?

Looks promising, I wish I didn't have to wait so long for my spot on the waitlist 😏 This video brought me here ⟶ https://youtu.be/TGuoU5DCcqk

Bummer that it's still waitlisting users!
