Latitude lets you create API endpoints on top of your database/warehouse using just SQL, and embed interactive visualizations natively in your favorite frontend framework or through an iframe.
Hi there! I’m César, founder of Latitude.
We spent the last 2 years building software for data teams. After many iterations, we've decided to rebuild everything from scratch and open-source it for the entire community.
Latitude is an open-source framework for embedded analytics.
Create API endpoints on top of your database or warehouse using just SQL, and embed interactive visualizations natively in your favorite frontend framework or through an iframe.
It's fast to get started, easy to maintain, and scales with your data.
We're actively looking for feedback and contributors. Let me know your thoughts!
vamos vamos vamos! Congrats on the launch, I loved the part where you convert SQL into APIs. I feel that should be more up and front in your landing, and value prop. Keep it up!
Super cool @heycesr! Just a quick question to wrap my head around it better: Supabase is to Firebase what Latitude is to what?
The answer may be nothing if it's purely it's own thing, but just curious :)
@heycesr@ignacio_guli_moreno Supabase is to Firebase what Latitude is to a custom implementation. Right now most devs either add their BI in their product via iframe (suboptimal xp) or code a full custom implementation into their frontends (slow and costly), Latitude is the middle sweetspot.
@heycesr@geclos Awesome!! Was just wondering if this was an OSS alternative to some private co or it's own thing. It's looking great, congrats on the launch!
Hi César,
Congratulations on the launch of Latitude! It's fantastic to see a tool that simplifies data interaction for teams. The open-source approach is definitely a plus for community-driven innovation.
What inspired you to pivot and rebuild everything from scratch? Looking forward to seeing how Latitude evolves with community input!
Best of luck!
Latitude sounds like a valuable tool for developers looking to integrate analytics directly into their applications. By allowing the use of SQL to create API endpoints, it seems quite accessible. I'm curious if there are any limitations on the complexity of the SQL queries that can be used and how it handles security concerns around database access.
Upvoted for its open-source nature and potential to democratize embedded analytics within applications.
Congratulations on the launch !
You indeed delivered on SQL-to-API endpoints.
Positives
+ I like your logo
+ You delivered on your promise
+ Nice clear graphics, much better than MatplotLib
Question
Any production examples ? Curious about performance at production scale
@aris_nakos Sure here's a couple of production sample apps that we've developed. Both done 100% with Latitude, both done in a couple of hours give or take.

We are very close to releasing our own infrastructure paid offering, which will allow you to deploy your Latitude projects with a single command to a production-ready infrastructure that scales to your needs.
