Hello fellow hunters!

Here is my small side project: SendMyBookBot is a Telegram bot that keeps your books remotely and sending a portion of it on demand.

Right now it's work in progress, I have plenty of features to implement here, need to see if somebody interested besides me.

Try it out and please leave your feedback, I am happy to hear it!

@a_losenko, clever idea for a bot! I wonder how many people would like to read books in the form of messages however 🤔

@amrith I agree, reading through messenger is a bit weird, but such format has its own advantages as well (at least for me): - you don't need separate app for reading; - books saved in the cloud - it's easier to receive updates (no manual updates on your phone, code of the bot updates only on server) Later I want to add couple of features to make use of Telegram API: - automatically send couple of pages everyday on previously set time (so you won't forget to read your book); - send audio instead of text (convert text to audio using some text-to-speech API); - save more than one book; - support more text file formats (epub, txt, mobi)

Kind of like the idea, why not epub? PDF are not the best format for book (I mean I don't even have PDF of book only epub) In the past we made https://jerome.gangneux.net/proj... with some friends, and reading a book in form of a chat could be quite fun (the approach is a little bit different but still)

@jrmgx Yes, epub is more popular than PDF, but for me it was faster to implement parsing of PDF instead, so I could launch the bot faster. Right now I am working on .epub and .mobi (which are basically the same, just .zip file). Thanks, I appreciate your feedback!

@userdiegooli Hi, I've created pretty the same idea in my own bot https://www.producthunt.com/post...
