Sarbo Roy
Super excited for the app, ladder is one of the best places to be for anyone early in their career
Andrew Tan
@sarbosss 100%!! the mobile app is by far my favorite new Ladder product
Vitaly Matveev
A relevant idea/market, but is the app limited to graduates of US universities only? :/ Really curious when founders will start finally see other parts of the world around them.
Andrew Tan
@vitaly2016 Our product and content is currently more catered towards US graduates currently, but we welcome international folks as well! In fact, we have a community on Ladder specifically for our international community: https://ladder.to/c/internationa...

Hi @vitaly2016, I want to add to Andrew's comment. I am a student from Europe on Ladder, and I find it valuable to connect with like-minded people, using the power of online communities in ways that existing professional/career apps don't currently support. Ladder's community curation offers something for everyone: from Venture Capital to Business in Tech or Crypto & Blockchain, Software Engineering, Marketing & Sales... I think you will enjoy it!
Vitaly Matveev
@catarinacapelomoreira I see your sentiment and expectations, but it's confusing that company chooses positioning to one cohort in this post-pandemic semi-remote world we live in today. I don't think it would hurt to upload the extended list of universities to make sure it's available for everyone and thus boost user acquisition and keep retention levels. If I won't see equal capabilities as a user, then I won't see any value in here, and so won't even pass the activation stage and churn quickly for the same reason.
Catarina Capelo Moreira
@vitaly2016, I think your feedback is precious, especially as Ladder continues to grow. Thank you for sharing your perspective. 🙏 In my experience, I have access to equal user capabilities in Ladder's communities as an international member. I use Ladder to expose myself to ideas, information, and opportunities that I wouldn't have access to if I connected only with people from the same university or area. As Ladder is community- and values-driven, I find it easy to connect with others who share similar interests because where I study or live becomes, fortunately, secondary.

How do you and the team plan to monitor content on your community and handle any type of toxicity?
Chris Carmichael
I love Ladder! I wish a product had been around like this back when I was in University. I'm getting early "The Social Network" vibes.
Andrew Tan
@chris_carmichael step aside LinkedIn and Facebook!!
Alexander Nevedovsky
Congrats on the launch, I'll check out the product. I'm curious — what's your GTM strategy?
Andrew Tan
@alexander_nevedovsky Thanks Alexander! Our thesis is that the future of professional platforms will be community-based instead of network-based. To that end, we're focused on building products and tools for people to find, start, and engage their professional communities. We have a large audience of students and professionals who are interested in tech, but continue to expand to more industries and going up the chain to more experienced professionals. We capture users at their earliest points in their career - during school, during their first job search, and when they're looking to transition. We also plan to onboard existing communities and leaders who are looking for a better tool than Slack or Facebook Groups to start their own communities. A recent product we built for communities is curated community job boards: https://ladder.to/jobs

Interesting! Looking forward to checking it out. Personally, I really like read.cv as a professional network, but since that’s mostly for folks in “creative” professions (although any profession can be thought of as creative, to be fair), Ladder might have a wider appeal.
Cameron Amini
Really love Ladder, have probably gotten more helpful career advice and resources on Ladder than any other app. Very much so a career game-changer.

@cameron_amini Thanks for the support Cameron ❤️

@cathyraffaele 100% agree! If anything, the pandemic and remote work has shown us how powerful online communities can be.

Thanks so much for hunting us, @alexisohanian 💚 Hey everyone 👋 I’m Andrew from the Ladder team! We’re so excited to share our new Ladder mobile app with the world, one of the biggest products we’ve worked on since launching the Ladder web platform 1 year ago. We’re rethinking what it means to be an online professional platform and rebuilding all the core components from the ground up — the feed, your profile, your communities, your connections, everything! If you go on Ladder today, it looks like what you would get if Reddit, Twitter, and LinkedIn came together and had a baby (in the best way). You can join professional communities, consume high-quality career content, engage in fun discussions, land your dream job, and form meaningful relationships with peers and mentors. Ladder features three core pillars: ✨ Communities: You can join communities with thousands of peers based on industries, roles, and interests that matter to you. ✨ Content: Ladder communities are filled with high-quality, social career content that range from opportunities and resources to debates and AMAs. ✨ Connections: Let’s be honest, those 500+ LinkedIn connections don’t actually mean anything. On Ladder, connections start in the communities and flourish through Events, AMAs, Group Chats, and Coffee Chats, a tool that handpicks the best people on Ladder for you to meet. At Ladder, our mission is to democratize access to career growth. And community is one of the most important aspects of growing and being successful in your career. It doesn’t matter what you do or where you’re from, you deserve to have a community for wherever you are at. Ladder is where you can find those communities, explore content, and make connections for every industry, role, interest, or career stage. Ladder is not just a job board or online resume. It’s where the next generation can be their best selves by making career growth more inclusive and community-driven. We’ve been around for about a year as a web app, and today we’re excited to launch our mobile app on iOS and Android so that you can take Ladder on the go for all your discussions, chats, and events. Lastly, a huge shout-out and thank you to the entire Ladder team and our investors for making this happen. Let’s go build the future 🚀
