I've been playing with the Playbook for a couple hours today and really enjoying the depth of content. Plus, they'll be updating this on a weekly basis, which is awesome.

@byosko thanks for posting - really appreciate it! Happy to add any personal favorite tactics you might have with links back to your blog. Just let me know.
Jim Huffman
@2michaeltaylor Great work. Rare that you get this much access to someone's work. Well done.
Michael Taylor
@jimwhuffman hey dude! Took an enormous amount of time to put this together, so thanks for the support! :-)
Conrad Wadowski
*Huge* and well thought out resource, great work.
Michael Taylor
@conradwa many many thanks :-) I'm 100% sure I learned some of these tactics on Grow Hack.
Ryan Kulp
It would be really interesting to see some meta data, ie what are the top 5 most viewed, or potentially an up/down vote (no login required) per hack, so that we can instantly curate the best stuff to look at. Very cool!
Michael Taylor
@ryanckulp really solid ideas; just added to our asana.
Jake Cohn
I love how in depth and practical this playbook is. The design is great as well. I'm using this as a resource! Do you have any particular favorites out of the 450+?
Michael Taylor
@leftearpod hey thanks Jake. I'm a paid ads guy, so my favorite is a 'retargeting onion': targeting people differently depending on how long they've been on site. https://ladder.io/tactic/Website... (big fan of andchill.io btw!)
Marcus Karoumi
Love having the small cards directly on the site. Nicely done! 😁
Michael Taylor
@mkaroumi thanks I'm glad you like it. We originally had the cards pop open in a modal, but it was too messy from an SEO perspective so we moved them to individual pages.
Giacomo Patella
Seems very useful and well put together. Just signed up to dig a bit deeper :)
Michael Taylor
@giacopate Thanks!
Alex Berman
Great tactics, would love some way to sort by ROI
Michael Taylor
@alxberman Yeah good idea - I'll add it to the roadmap.
Alexi Roy
You guys should make this into a physical book. I would buy it for sure.
Michael Taylor
@_alexiroy we were actually thinking of working on an eBook! Thanks for the feedback and support. We do have a pretty hefty blog post which should keep you busy for now: https://blog.ladder.io/growth-st...
Alexi Roy
@2michaeltaylor Holy Cow! That's a huuuuuge post! Good job, keep it up!
Matthieu de Luze
Hi! Congrats for making it, great tool here 👍 Could you explain how is calculated the AVG ROI? Also, I think adding real case studies and examples will be a great insight and could maybe help readers make a decision on testing the hack or not.
Michael Taylor
@matthieudeluze thanks for checking us out! We record the increase of ROI vs the control variation (whatever we were running before) and then average that increase out over all the times the test has run. Please note that in most cases we only have 1-2 runs of a specific test, so don't take the data as gospel; use it with a pinch of salt. In any case, tactics will always work differently for your business than they did for others; this is just a way at giving a rough priority when you can't choose.

I was checking this out yesterday. Looks very cool but what I really wanted to see was a demo of ladder.io! I've been lurking for months but don't really want to set up a call. A quick example video would go a long way to showing what exactly ladder can do.
Wilton
@benjaminshares So right about the demo video! We're going through some major iterations that are shipping in the next 2-3 weeks, and an up-to-date video is a top priority. Here's one we did previously (that still has some of our old UI): http://bit.ly/ladder-demo-video If you're not averse to a 15-minute call, then I'm happy to do a screen share of the latest! PS - Signed up for the GrowDomino beta List :)
Tibor Zahorecz

One question: "We've spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours learning what works, so you don't have to." Really millions of dollars ? :) But for real now. Playbook is just cool. Many of questions has been already answered. I would prefered more filters though. Phrases like SEO, SEM, conversion ratio, attribution would be super cool and it can help users find information much more quickly. Great job!
Michael Taylor
@ivanlucansky yeah actually ;-) we've spent a couple of million over the past two years across 70 startups (not including one crazy client who spends $40k a day just on FB!). Also I've personally spent around $25m over the past 6 years (of other people's money of course!) working at Efficient Frontier (now part of Adobe), Travelzoo, ShopStyle and SumoMe - a lot of these tactics came from my experiences there. P.S. you can actually search for 'SEO' and other tags in the search box: https://ladder.io/playbook?query.... Hope that's useful? Thanks for your support!

It's a hell of a resource, and particularly great for ideation. If you already have KPIs in mind and are looking for strategies to attack them, this resource can shed light on a ton of ideas you might not have otherwise thought about.

Pros:

Tons of growth marketing tactic ideas with easy searching.

Cons:

Could benefit from additional filters, such a industry or business model.

I love it
