Especially in SF it's a pain to get to the next rental station - either at the airport or in Fisherman's wharf.

@will_bacher Good question! As of now, we are trying to reduce complexity and only offer 2 categories: Sedans and SUVs. The Sedans are mostly Volkswagen Jettas and for the SUVs, we have different models (Jeeps, Fords, ...).

@larosa Cars with gas and without trash... and not full of rain water, as was my first experience with another rental company.
Super interesting concept . But given that a person (I'm assuming) has to bring the car to you, how can your rates be similar or even cheaper than other rental cars?
@erikz great question. We take under-utilised inventory from traditional car rental companies in order to provide you with a car that is reliable but affordable at the same time 😃
This is awesome. I’m in LA now so have a car but used to live in DC and this would’ve been so helpful there. I had so many disastrous Zipcar experiences...

Thank you fro your amazing work. Kyte app has saved me several times during my trips, especially outside the US. Last year we have traveled to Eastern Europe and I was worried a lot because I didn't know any places there, and rental car companies too. But using your app we were able to find rent car Kiev services for reasonable pricing. We were satisfied with their services and car collection. Our trip was successful too thx to your app. I must say it works good in other places too, not just in Eastern Europe.
We could use this in Seattle. ShareNow/Car2Go just announced they're pulling out of the US. That was our last remaining free-floating car share. This isn't a 1-to-1 replacement, but it could be useful nonetheless.

In the near future we won't need to own cars because Kyte makes car access effortless, affordable & convenient. It just works!
Just out of curiosity, Enterprise built their company on the slogan "we'll pick you up", how does the consumer differentiate your company from theirs?
@jeff_nieznay the key difference is that Enterprise picks you up and brings you to the rental station where you still have to go to the main process (paperwork, lines, upsells, ..). And you have to call in and coordinate your pickup. Kyte on the other side brings the car when requesting it in the app, so all of the above is eliminated and I'd say it's a lot simpler/more convenient.
Kyte rocks! I visited some friends in San Fran and needed to get around. Didn't need a zip car, Uber/Lyft too expensive and not really convenient. Going to the traditional car rental company is just always a hassle.
Found Kyte and really glad I did!!
It was as easy as ordering pepperoni pizza! Support service was on top of everything with handling my international driver’s license. They delivered the car to me, were super responsive, car was clean and I was ready to go.

We make sure your surfer will pick up your Kyte when you'll arrive back in the city.
Used it in the early days. They had excellent service and it's good to see their official launch. This product is much needed for people with little time. Especially in this decade our generation is switching to an ownership-free life without a car. Whenever I rent a car for the medium term I lose so much time
With pickup, gas refilling, and other cleaning issues. On top of that, transport to and from the car rental place doesn't improve my mood either. It's a total nuisance.
Kyte may serve a niche, but it's product that is so much needed for those people, and believe they can go far with this model. Go Kyte!
@loek_janssen thank you. You are right that it might seem a bit nichy for now but we actually believe there is a larger product opportunity out there by rethinking rentals in general and augmenting/replacing more and more components of the traditional model.
Sounds amazing! I frequently rent cars and I'm always worried about any surprise charges. How much do you charge when I return the car at a lower fuel level?
@sophie_madlen we don't charge any extra fees for fuelling up. You can return at any fuel level and we will charge you the actual amount at local pump rates 😃

Used them once and worked like a charm! So much better experience than normal rental car companies. I highly recommend and I already booked my second trip.

Kyte is amazing! It really fills the gap between the car-rental and ownership experience. They understand customer needs so well and it's simply just such an easy thing to do. Go Kyte!!!
Kyte had all the little things figured out. I was worried because I had a nearly dead phone and was running late. When I got in the car, a charger and phone holder were there waiting in the dash. When I got home, I completely forgot to refuel. With Kyte, you don’t have to. I handed off the keys and they refueled for me, no premium charges or fees. Great experience!

I tried Kyte a few weeks ago when I needed a last minute rental for the day, and it was so easy and affordable! I liked that I was able to text directly with someone from Kyte to ask questions about insurance or change my pick-up location. Also - the car was super clean which was a nice change from the cars I used to get on Getaround!
