We've been on Kifi since early on and have found it to be invaluable and it just keeps getting better and better (see bi-directional Slack integration). Most impressive to me is the Kifi team's desire to make the product amazing - everytime we've had a recommendation, they reply quickly and thoughtfully. And they've reached out to ask our opinion on how we like certain and/or new features. Great example to follow for those building new products/services/apps, etc. Kudos to Eishay and the entire Kifi team.
Kifi has definitely been the best curation tool I've used. I'm something of a curation nerd and have tested almost every bookmarking & curation tool out there. My favorite aspect is how easy it is to rediscover links you've saved by searching google with key words. I really look forward to seeing a public api.
@ryanpbrewster I've been wanting to build a tool for resurfacing content I've curated based on semantic triggers & time periods. Frequently once I've bookmarked something it'll just get lost among all the other links & content I'm sifting through. Having a means of resurfacing it while potentially drawing cross connections between new content would be extremely valuable to me.
@limerentfox we have discussed doing something like that a few times and other things keep taking priority. A public API seems like a cool solution to that issue. Want to DM me some of the API methods you think would be most valuable?
Kifi is awesome for gathering all those great tools and resources my team is sharing everyday, and having them surface in Google search results is brillant!
I've been testing this and love it! Really handy to archive all links shared on Slack. And really handy that its two way traffic. That saving in a certain folder on Kifi gets published in Slack too.
@erwblo Thanks Erwin - so glad to hear you <3 it :) Definitely excited to get the option to either push and/or pull links between Kifi and Slack. We also released some pretty granular settings so that you can adjust these all per channel.
I’m the CEO & founder at Kifi. Today we are super excited to announce our Slack integration. With one click you can create a Kifi team that mirrors your Slack team. What that means to you: You can now get to Slack messages from Google search results. Never lose links messaged within Slack.
And all the searches are deep searches: We index the content of all the links you share, so you can search links and their content from within Slack, and even more importantly, from Google.
Kifi aims to be there whenever teams of users are sharing web content. Over the last year we’ve worked hard on allowing Kifi users to work within teams and improved our Google & Twitter integrations. Now, we’re happy to add Slack.
@solojon that's a limitation of Slack's API: as far as I know, the only way for us to get *your* own information and create your Kifi user profile is via the "users.info" API. Now that API requires a set of permissions that gives us access to your entire team's directory.
I agree this is unfortunate and I promise we're playing nice. We've been very careful trying to optimize our implementation for the smallest set of permissions but I'm not aware of a way around that one, at least until Slack releases a stricter API.
Perhaps the folks at Slack can chime in?
@buster@episod@DEGoodmanWilson@sean_a_rose@aunder
@leo_grimaldi Agreed that it's a current limitation. Slicing the data by a particular user's perspective without granting access to the entire team's info is something we're hoping to support soon (no timeline yet but it's actively being scoped/started this quarter).
Kifi's slack integration allows our business to share links in our slack channels and save them for later reference via Kifi. Its really an awesome way to store and database imporant website without having to do much work. I highly recommend using Kifi as a bookmarking tool as well this feature is just another awesome perk! 🔑🚀
@andymci thanks for the love Andy! I gather you've found that we let you import all of your content in del.icio.us together with all the tagging work you may have done 💪 http://support.kifi.com/hc/en-us...
for UI folks especially review the onboarding process which is extremely smooth. kifi looks like a great resource for slack communities to self-organize & better share/recover all the links - moar plz
@scottwwilliams I seriously never read the manual or click on the intro slideshow, but this I did every single item they told me to try, and I learned from it! good job @jeng24@eishay
Kifi has enabled me to avoid needlessly digging through folders to find information for years now. If your constantly scrolling back through conversations to find a link, this feature is a godsend
Super useful integration, the search is impeccable and makes you easily find all links shared on slack. I use it for all of my research and references at Yelp.
This looks great! I just signed up my college's App Development group with Kifi, and can't wait to get started. We throw around a lot of resources in our channels, and the fact that it will all be indexed now is awesome. Cataloging with minimal effort!
This integration with Slack has the lowest barrier-to-entry and largest immediate value compared to any I've seen. In one click, every link you've sent in Slack gets kept and shared between you and your team members, no work necessary. If you're an existing Kifi user using Slack, this is the best way to get Slack integrated with Kifi. If you're a Slack user tired of scrolling around for links, welcome to Kifi. Please comment or tweet us @kifi if you have any questions or suggestions!
This is a really cool product. Have been using it for quite a while now. Takes discovery of relevant articles to a more personal level through google search. Love the delivery of bookmarked pages via a newsfeed. Great to discover what other people are reading as well. Good luck guys!
P.S: I have not used it through the chrome extension, not via slack.
I love Kifi and have been using it for almost a year. Integration with Slack is a great addition and I hope it's the first of many. (*cough cough* Trello)
I've been using Kifi with my colleagues for over a year now. Looking forward to when this type of integration might be available on Hipchat, which is what we use at Nest.
@scottruffner many of our users have been asking for Hipchat after trying out Kifi with Slack. Our current focus is to make this Slack integration the best out there. Now we’re all 👂and Hipchat is definitely on our radar.
more awesome from my former linkedin compadres - slack as a searchable link-sharing tool for teams just got an order of magnitude more convenient with this. great work team kifi!
full disclosure: i'm an investor in kifi. but i can also honestly say that our entire team uses kifi nearly every day. it is one of our most valuable tools for team based productivity.
