Hello Product Hunt Community! I'm Artem, an entrepreneur passionate about innovation. My journey began in New York, where I first developed new car keys during my university studies. Initially, my prototypes were physical keys with displays. However, feedback from my groupmates highlighted the inconvenience of carrying keys and the potential of wearable technology. This insight led me to the development of keyless car access app. After two and a half years of development, we are here to introduce our product! We are in KeyVault taking the idea to replace car keys with the phone start adding functionality to make this transition more efficient and convenient. Our app doesn't just replace your key fob—it enhances it with advanced features: * Keyless Access: Your vehicle automatically unlocks as you approach and locks when you walk away. Customize the distance settings in the app for optimal convenience. * Sharing Car Keys: Enjoy two levels of vehicle access: 1. Unlimited Access: Grant family members permanent access to your car, allowing them to use it anytime. 2. Temporary Access: Share limited-time access with friends, car service employees, or personal drivers. Monitor their movements and track your vehicle in real-time for added security. Additionally, our app provides detailed insights into your car's performance, including fuel consumption, acceleration stats, and more. When we start this project we understood the value of security and how important to protect our users from hacking. Analyzing usual key fob we did our system more secure efficiently adding several levels authentication. All of it allows us make our key hard to break in real life situations, literally nobody can hack it from our testing group while usual keys were hacked less than two minutes. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm! We look forward to your feedback and are excited to bring this innovation to your daily driving experience!

💡 Bright idea
Hey Artem, great to see such a revolutionary approach to car access! KeyVault seems like a game-changer in the automotive tech space. Love how you've taken user feedback seriously during your development; it really shows that you care about the UX. The idea of customizable access levels for sharing keys is fantastic, especially for families. I can definitely see how this could enhance convenience and security all in one! Also, the fact that you've prioritized security with multiple authentication levels is reassuring in today's digital age. One suggestion I might have is to consider integrating a feature that allows users to set temporary access based on specific times or locations, just for an added layer of flexibility. Looking forward to watching KeyVault grow on Product Hunt. Keep up the amazing work!

@blankwebdev Hi! Love your comment, thanks for the support. Good point about the time and geographical limitations. The team thought about it as well and I'm happy to say, it's possible to do so in the current demo systems we have. Before the access has been shared, the owner can limit the time and location. Here is the quote from the keyvault.co FAQ section: What happens if a user with 'temporary' access to the vehicle goes outside the travel area or the key expires? The user will receive a notification that they need to return to the travel area within 15 minutes or notify the owner of the expansion of such area. If that is not done, the access to the vehicle will be limited. In that case, the following actions will not be possible: starting the engine, central lock management, trunk management.

@blankwebdev Hey Blank, thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback! We're thrilled that you see Keyvault as a game-changer in the automotive tech space. Our team has been working hard to develop this product, with a strong focus on security and user experience. We especially consider how families can interact with their cars, whether they're being shared with children or grandparents. We already have features that allow users to restrict access by time and location, and it's great to hear that you mentioned them. It reassures us that we're heading in the right direction. If you have any more ideas or feedback, we'd love to hear them. Thank you for your support!
Max
Hello What kind of feedback have you already received from early users of your app? Do you plan to add new features to the app in the future? How does your app integrate with different car models?
Artem K
@mksaint13 Hey Max, we're receiving positive feedback from our early users, and their experiences have been really impressive. Here's an example: 'Hands-free access is an amazing feature; I didn't realize how convenient it was until I used it.' Yes, we have many ideas to add in the future! You should have our device installed at any car service center. It's a simple process that takes just 10-15 minutes.

Hey Artem, Does it work with most modern cars, or are there specific makes/models it's designed for? Clarifying the range of supported vehicles could help potential users quickly determine if it's a fit for them. Congrats on the launch!
Artem K
@kyrylosilin Hey Kyrylo, thank you for you question and feedback! Our product works with any car, but we can't fully replace car keys that need to be inserted to start the engine. We highly recommend using our product with cars that have a push-start button. Only in this case can the product function as originally intended. We also have an input field on our website to enhance the car search process and make it convenient for everyone.

Congrats on launch of Keyvault K1....

Congrats on the launch! This is really cool, though I don't see myself using it. I'd never feel comfortable not having my physical keys in case my phone died. I could see this being an exciting development for car collectors, though -- not having to deal with many sets of keys and just using your phone instead.
Artem K
@jack_michalak thanks for your feedback! We believe that today, phones are the main device people use for everything, from banking to food delivery, and we can't imagine our lives without them. That's why we decided to integrate car keys into the phone.
Jack Michalak
@art_kv I appreciate that, and many people agree with you. I don't because I've had too many experiences where I was with someone whose phone died and we got screwed over because of it. A more recent one was one of those use-your-phone-as-your-house-key apps and we were going to a friend's place in the mountains where there wasn't cell service, and his phone died before we got to his place but we didn't have a car charger and nobody else had cell service, so we had to drive an hour to get cell service and download the key onto someone else's phone. Further back when I was traveling around China, a friend of mine was taking me around on their scooter, but their phone died and then their scooter battery died. We walked to someone that would charge it, but they only took WeChat Pay, which they couldn't use because their phone was dead and I couldn't use because I'm a foreigner (who missed the cutoff for joining without a local bank account -- long story). We then went someplace to charge their phone, but again they only accepted WeChat Pay. We had to beg people to borrow their phone chargers and then find an unguarded outlet to charge enough to use WeChat Pay to rent the battery pack and then finally pay to charge the scooter and continue our journey. All of this is a really long way to say that there's a risk of relying on your phone for things that people don't always realize, and I'd be mad if I was out and couldn't drive my car home because my phone died.

The combination of advanced security features and hands-free access is a great idea. This could make everyday cars use much simpler and more secure.

The product look promising, but it would be helpful to have more details on how the installation process works for different car models. Clearer guidance on setup and compatibility could make a big difference for users.

This app seems to be the future of how we interact with our cars. The focus on security while providing enhanced functionality is exactly what the market needs right now.

This concept of keyless car access is fascinating. The idea of controlling everything through a smartphone with added layers of security makes a lot of sense in today's world. I’m curious to see how this technology will evolve
Artem K
@luther_westover Thanks you, very appreciate your feedback!

Congrats on the launch! I think the best selling point of this app is the fact that you'll never accidentally get locked out of your car again. Can't wait to see this app become more widespread!
