Keeper Tax (YC W19) is launching a new tax filing software designed for freelancers. It uses AI to automatically scan your 2019 purchases for tax write-offs, and integrates those savings into your return. This service is currently only available in the US.

I’ve been using Keeper Tax since October. I love the simple text messages with my bookkeeper. Awesome job on this tax product too, excited to file with you all.

Today, Keeper Tax (YC W19) is launching a new tax filing software the first tax filing software designed for freelancers.
Since day 1, customers have been complaining about having to then type their write-offs, manually, into traditional tax software. This can literally take hours.

So does this also handle personal taxes for a freelancer / is that on your roadmap? Last year I had W2 and 1099 income, the 1099 income was through a Deleware LLC. I used TurboTax and filed for free (as a student) and so both my business and personal taxes were handled. What would be the advantage of switching to Keeper Tax this year, when I am no longer a student and will have to pay for Turbotax?

It's good that there is such a company. Now they can easily calculate everything and explain it to me. I had such a story in my life, some unpleasant streak. First: I have assessed a hefty tax, and secondly, when I paid for utilities, I was not given a receipt, and then it turned out that my debt began to grow, in the end, put stubs, and there was no way to prove that all the bills were paid. I always neglected this and immediately threw away receipts, now I keep them all the time, and if they do not give or are lost, now you can make check stubs online and in case of anything to defend their right.
As a small Cookie shop and just starting out, Caitlin has been instrumental in helping me to find write-offs that I didn't even know I had.
I love it. It's simple, design is simple, application is simple. They help you and try to do what they can to help, and have taken a lot of stress off my shoulders! Perfect for someone like me that doesn't understand taxes at all.

My book keeper, Caitlin, is a real person assigned to my account. Between her and Keeper Tax's AI, my accounts are combed and pulled apart to locate every single possible dollar in taxable deductions. She answered all my questions, and I'm now much more knowledgeable about my taxes than before I used this service.
When I filed my taxes with Keeper Tax for the 2019 year. I had w2 income and 1099 income from multiple sources. Despite this complicated tax case, the process was very easy and streamlined. I got notice of my return within a few days after a brief review by a CPA to reduce the chance of an audit. I'm confident in filing a refund with Keeper Tax because they provide audit protection.
Without Keeper Tax, I would have spent thousands more in tax obligations.
If this is this is what their product looks like now, I can't imagine how fantastic it'll be in a few years. Absolute rockstar of a product.
Help you understand more about what you can write off on taxes on your every day use of things or do, that you would of never thought of. So far I'm up to $500 to claim for next year, love it and awsome to have, thank you Keeper Tax
