Kaleidoscope is the perfect productivity enhancement for anyone working with lots of files, such as software developers of any kind. Spot the differences in text and image files, or even folders full of files. Review changes in seconds.
Great to see this product updated after so long! But β have to admit the sticker shock is pretty high.

Fixes
Way too many bugs have been fixed to note individually
Waiting for my next source code (git) conflict to resolve through Kaleidoscope 3-way merge. Great to have deep tools like this to handle these cases (and a lot more).
Glad to see a great team come up with a great app. Keep going folks π
I use Kaleidoscope for ten years now (I just looked it up!!) and I haven't seen any other diff tool that I liked this much. I'm very excited to upgrade!
Btw: I know the price sounds a bit high in the first place, but people who need this app, are likely to use it on an everyday basis.
@adrian_poaca Thanks for the praise! :) However, no plans at this time for a Windows version. We love great native apps and do not have the knowledge and experience to create a Windows app of equal quality.
@flo_muc can you share how you arrived at your pricing? You're or course fully empowered to price your product however you like, but relative to other tools, $149.99 seems high to me.
For some examples:
β’ Transmit is $49
β’ Nova is $99 (or $49/yr for annual updates)
β’ Sketch is $99/yr or $9/mo
How many of the future updates does the $149 price point cover?
@flo_muc@chrismessina we want the app to be profitable at our current team size of three. We made great progress in this small setup. Based on the historical sales, this only seems possible at a higher price point.
Used to be a big fan of the product, and the new version looks awesome, and definitely worth a try! But, not sure it's for everyone at the price point, especially where basic diff tools are built in to a lot of products nowadays
@indranil_dasgupta Hey Indranil, thanks for your feedback! Indeed, no product needs to (or can) target everyone.
Kaleidoscope is for Mac users who value a modern native app that integrates well and doesn't get in the way. We certainly hope to find enough customers who do.
