If you are makings slides as often as I do you know this struggle: how to find the perfect image to illustrate my message. How many hours have you wasted on the stock image libraries? Fine-tuning the keywords to get something truly great and original is a skill... and I suck at it 😅 And in the end, the results really depend on the creator and how they described or tagged their image. Kailua’s search platform is a game-changer for any site offering search. Their AI understands the stuff inside images and videos so that users can search for the content directly. It lets users describe what they have in mind, and retrieves anything matching those descriptions. 🤯

Looks pretty cool. Curious, can I search for video content as well?
Micole Bellocchio
is this free forever and unlimited?
Pablo Mendes

Great work! What are the main differences compared to Google Image Search?
Pablo Mendes
@georgbauser the main difference is that we are an API that you can integrate into your app/site to search over your own data — even if the Google crawler does not have access to it. You use Google Image Search as a user to search the Web and you use the Kailua Labs API as a developer to give your app/site users access to top-quality search functionality over your app/site data. Makes sense?

I tried it out this morning and I was surprised how easy it is to get started. LOVE how you’ve made this tech accessible behind an API. I was thinking of offering search like this on my site but it felt complicated and time-consuming. But if this is a turnkey solution, then it’s a game-changer for on-site search. Does the platform recognize text in images? For example, if I have an e-commerce store, will your tech recognize the labels on products?
Pablo Mendes
@hijackedmojo Yes! It will interpret the image contents including shapes, colors, text, and even other contextual information such as seasons, “vibes”, etc Try it out and let us know what you think!

Thanks to @picsoung for hunting us! 👋PH community! I’m Pablo, co-founder of Kailua Labs along with @lance_hasson1 and @jodaiber. 🤦Finding media shouldn't be this hard Imagine this: you have an app or a site with a lot of visual content like stock images or an e-commerce store. To help users find what they’re searching for, you tag images manually or maybe use an error-prone and incomplete auto-tagger. But the search process for your user remains tedious: they search, scroll and filter endlessly. They use a few keywords, then scroll through the results, and if the results don’t feel right, they try a different query and repeat. Maybe they try to figure out your filters and use some of them. The more specific the search, the longer this takes. If the right content isn't tagged correctly, your user won't find it or will settle for something less than ideal. Maybe they leave and don’t come back. There's a better way. 🧠Kailua is a search platform that understands your media Forget tags and relying on time-consuming, error-prone metadata. How about a search platform that automatically understands the content of your media, and lets your users search it directly using natural language? Imagine enabling your user to search for the perfect image the same way they think and speak: "Bird on a tree" "Snowy city at night" "Black and white photos of street buskers" If an image matching the description is in your collection, our search platform will find it. ⚡AI-powered search made easy Sounds complicated? We got you. We've made this capability available through a simple two-step process. Load your data using our easy onboarding wizard or connect your existing store (S3, Postgres, etc.). Start searching using a simple API call. That's it. No tagging. No tedious description crafting. No stuffing product titles with a zillion keywords. No compromise. We'll take care of all the complicated magic behind the scenes so you can focus on delivering value to your users. And the best part? Our technology isn’t just for images – it also works on videos, text, and audio, so you can have a one-stop search solution for your entire media collection. (Stay tuned for future launches!) 🚀This is media search the way it's supposed to be With our turnkey solution, you'll save time and help users find the perfect image, item, content, or anything else they need. Try it and see how it can improve your product’s search experience. You can get started for free or schedule a demo. Better yet, ask us questions in the comments!

@picsoung @lance_hasson1 @jodaiber @pablomendes It sounds like Kailua Labs is making media search easier and more efficient with its AI-powered platform. That's really impressive – it must have taken a lot of hard work and dedication to develop such an innovative solution.
Eddy Wong
Is there any scope on what things your AI can search? Like if I have a ton of screenshots and I say “chat with Betty in 2019 about a steakhouse” will it still do it?
Lance Hasson
@eddy_wong Hey Eddy! Are the screenshots of messages? I.e. containing text? I think there's a good chance that use case would work well. Would love to see it tried!
Eddy Wong
Does it / will it offer any customization/training on top of what it supports out of the box? For example if I find the results “good” but not “great”, what are my next steps?
Pablo Mendes
@eddy_wong Yes! The model comes smart out of the box and has the ability to adapt to your specific use case. The retraining is not currently self-service but that's on our roadmap.
