My wife and I are traveling around the world and we've been using Journy to help plan a big chunk of our trip. We save a ton of time and we're discovering a bunch of hidden gems we couldn't have found otherwise. We absolutely love the service!
I used Journy on my trip to Iceland last month. I highly recommend it. The concierge provided us with certain recommendations that turned out to be some of the best moments of the trip, and we would have never known about them without Journy. We used it to compliment our existing itinerary, but at $15/day it's a complete no brainer.
Journy helped plan a perfect adventure for me in Copenhagen. 1) they arranged activities in a natural walkable flow that took me around the city 2) they told me exactly where it was hip to stay 3) the places they recommended were on all my friends lists and highly ranked on foursquare - eg they were the places I would have gone but without any of the work to figure it out. 4) for the first time traveling in a foreign country I got to eat at nice restaurants because they arranged dinner reservations. Will absolutely use again, excited to see their launch!
Looks awesome! I travel so much for work and never have time to plan out a trip... this is a no brainer to get.
Are you guys planning on ever doing virtual group tours? The best hack I have to make short-term friends is hitting up meetups. Pairing with another traveller would be way awesomer.
Great idea @zemvpferreira. We are thinking about how to incorporate video into our itineraries to give our customer a better understanding of the recommendations…But right now because the majority of our travelers are solo or couples, that's where our focus is.
Yes! cool to see Journy on PH, used it for a trp for Paris and I was totally blown away by how good the itinerary was, would never have found half the spots without it. Even living in Manhattan it a really simply way to plan a staycation. Super rad travel platform.
@leitihsu is hands-down the most connected, not to mention dedicated, person I've ever met in food and travel. I've been lucky enough to get her recommendations personally over the last year and can say I would 100% trust this service.
I for one can testify to the greatness of this service. I used it while I was in Tokyo for 3 weeks and it really made the trip! In the past I've used trip advisor or other crowdsourced recommendation apps and they all have fallen very short, way too much to choose from and the highest reviewed places are tourist traps. Every single recommendation from Journy ended up being either an amazing time or a fabulous restaurant. During my trip I pinged my concierge for extra recommendations for different neighborhoods and she was more than amenable to help me out (not to mention very prompt in her responses). As far as I'm concerned this service is a must have for anyone going to a place they know little about and I plan on using it anytime I go someplace new!
I LOVE Journy. I used it on my vacation last year to Montreal and it made planning so much easier - especially since we were with a group of friends who wanted to see the "best of everything." A friend is coming into town in a few weeks, and I plan on using Journy to customize our game plan :)
@edlynyuen thanks for sharing this amazing feedback. Look forward to helping you and your friend find the best things to do in your city. I love staycations!
I was one of the early customers of Journey and have to say, it's damn cool. These ladies know their way around the cities you want to visit. It's like having that local friend who knows all the good spots...
@elizabethhunker@gojourny@amy_guo@leitihsu@ow Funny enough, an early beta tester actually told us he cancelled his AMEX black card after using Journy for his Tokyo trip. We've found that credit card concierge services are great at getting you in to a place you want to go to, but fall short at helping you discover the hidden gems and spots you might not know about. And that's where we at Journy come in!
I love Journy. I get lost in time-sucking rabbit holes when planning travel. With Journy, I can get affordable, highly curated travel plans that I can trust!
@nickbudden Great question. A real human plans your trip for you. We've seen that travel is sufficiently complicated and personal that it needs a human touch. That said, on the back end, we do have automation tools that make our humans much more efficient.
We do have plans to introduce a bot for some common interactions using the information in our database though, such as last minute in country requests (e.g., you're in Tokyo and you're looking for a sushi restaurant within walking distance — we'll know what to recommend as we already have all your taste preferences).
@nickbudden Totally!
We're fans of lola and Pana actually and both are great at helping you with flights and hotel bookings, or a reservation here or there. Journy is unique in that:
1) We're the only one who focuses on what you should do when you arrive to your destination in its entirety. Not only can we arrange your reservations, but we can also tell you the best order to visit everything in, and we're best equipped to answer questions like — if I can only do one 3-star Michelin restaurant in Paris, which one should it be?
2) Because of that, we're also the only one with an interface that makes it easy for a traveler to easily access the information they need on their itinerary.
3) Journy recommendations come from hand-picked experts.
4) Journy doesn't do flight bookings. We do help with hotel and can snag perks for our travelers there.
I used journey for a trip to lake Como, and am now a customer for life! The amazing itinerary, gorgeous interface, and top notch support is worth so much more than the $15/day price. The team is passionate about travel and food, and that passion carries through to the product. Looking forward to my next journy!! @susan_ho I'd travel blindly with you at the helm.
Big fan of Journy. Makes a trip to any new city so much more worthwhile. We get way more out of the trips we take when we use the trip planning services from Journy. Use it. Share it. You will not regret it.
